To load the toolbar on 3dmax , within 3dmax go to Customize/ customize user interface, in the toolbars tab, click load (down right) and select Xtream-cui, should appear in the toolbars.
HI. This is great. With this tutorial i discovered VUE and its a great program I liked it very much because of its ready presets. But can somebody tell me how to display that VUE toolbar in 3dsMax?
i seem to be having a problem.. even if i disable the default vue sunlight in the scene the scene renders with an extreme white ouput in which nothing is visible.. but if i delete the light everything seems normal.. but i can't edit the atmosphere because i have no sun.. what do i do?
Very disappointed with the instability of Vue 8 xstream..the tutorial video looks fantastic but I can't even get it to work in 3ds max without it completely crashing.
Hey,,Don't you all see the High End Professional studios use it and they don't complain about poor integration or crashing?!..
This program (Vue xstream) is for Professional systems(all I see here are people on single PC's with amount of RAM less than 8 GB RAM and you complain that the program is bugy and crashes?!!!!!!!!!!
dude this is NOT for profesional systems.. it could even work flawlessly on my laptop but the program is A CRAP PORT OF THE ORIGINAL program.. got that? its buggy plugin. standalone works good.
@ErrorrPerfect bro I worked and learned for years on the old one which crashed many times even on mspaint :P.. but that trash has brought me a good job and this new computer... so keep trying... :))
They also dont know that the pro pc's are all under ultimate networks sharing Ram Vram and cpus so they can render/Run most things that will take us 1-10 minutes in 40 seconds flat .......Slave machines
Yes, it always crashes inside 3DS, specially if you use the plant stuff. As a standalone program, with a lot of tweaking to get rid of the flickering, it's fine. Vue integration with 3DS is still poor.
being less knowledgeable in computers before make me blame the 3d software for frequent crashing before...but now there are a lot of factors that contributes to crashing..vue 7 is stable under 6 gb ram
Produces absolutely awesome looking shots, and render-times are of course very high for an individual user, but the biggest issue is the constant crashing. I'd have hoped they'd have it fixed by now.
BEWARE before SPENDING your hard earned MONEY on this stuff. What EON won't tell you is that Vue takes forever to render. YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED access to a massive RENDER FARM to get anything decent with Vue. And the PERMANENT CRASH is KNOWN to anybody in the 3D field by now! Those are eon's DIRTY LITTLE SECRETS.
You know it's true because he uses caps. Its hardly a secret if everyone knows about it and truth be told its a great program. Does it have its faults? Sure but bottom line is it delivers amazing results if you know how to use it.
have you used vue with 64 bit xp/vista? i will try to upgrade my os to vista 64....i'm afraid to experience the same things like others...right now vue 7 is stable in xp 64
I suppose the thing here is xstream vs stand alone Vue7...and frankly I find that xstream doesn't fully install or function in Maya the way it should... but as a stand alone its great.
totally agree...i have xstream but i always run stand alone it is easier and faster...no crashes on a quad core os.... i even managed to to vue 6 on a pentium 3 before but i would recommend getting high end pc to experiment ...vue is versatile as you learn you discover things that are not in their manuals and tutorials
I take that back - all my hopes & dreams of the 3d world have shattered :(
They will never get there, even with motion cap & lip syncs the " Plastic & Jelly " attribute that is attached to 3d stuff will ultimately blow to make 3d obsolete.
& I didnt mention the bugs which this program has - a big waste of $ but dw this program is not alone.

Yup, rain too. There are many ways to make the effect.
Eco systems, shaders, trees, etc. Just got to be inventive.

@magia355
on your 3dsmax, open customize and load custom UI scheme
go to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2010\ui
and load xStream.cui
the files should appear if you changed the files type in the window browser to *.cui

What nonsense...Rendercow is an awesome render engine...It's easier to use and faster than Mental Ray
Cadmium77 2 years ago
You sound like someone working for Eon! What do you have to say about the permanent crash of xstream?
davidhayter26 2 years ago
7.2 has always been quite stable for me. Sorry your cracked version isn't working well. Perhaps your computer is heavily infected with viruses.
Cadmium77 2 years ago
My (Legal copy) Xstream never worked - I bought it in ver 6 and upgraded to 7 hoping they would solve it - NADA ZILCH !
11400 US$ down the drain.
All the legal users I met at E-on forums commented the same - so if anybody here has 1450 US$ - I suggest to invest it elsewhere.

Xstream version DOES NOT work !!!
I have tried to use it since version 6 uo to 7.4 - 1400 US$ gone to air.
BTW - This video show nothing new - it is the same as the one done for version 7 !

I tried some PLE version of Xstream .. and it constantly crash, so only normal version has sense to buy?
CenekStrichel 2 years ago
No !
I would recommend using better plugins - costing xcheaper - Forest PAck Pro + AutoGrass + Evermotion Trees (also Free trees from AutoDESK)
The user forums at E-on are filled with ppl like me - having no luck at running Xstream. I tried the versio 8 PLE - also had crashes.
