"Wie geht es Ihnen?" is the formal way, use with strangers, someone we're not close, the old, prof....ect...-> Generally to show our respect to the person we talk with.

"Wie geht es dir/euch?" is the casual/informal way, use with friends, familiar...

@anikristo1 it means to welcome or to greet as well. The difference between "Grüßen" and "Begrüßen" is that "Grüßen" is used for example if you say hello to a random person on the street. "Begrüßen" on the other hand would describe you welcoming someone at your party; however the difference is VERY minor and even most Germans do not differentiate between the two terms. If you are learning German I recommend to use "Begrüßen".
