@mambac7 that's not really clever...it's true sometimes when his teammates aren't playing well and yes, he does force things, just like lebron sometimes passes to shitty teammates way too much....but he is the most fundamentally sound player. melo just said today he is still the best player, with the best moves, footwork, the hardest worker. dont hate, appreciate the legend
there are not interesting mechanics in the moves, no secrets there. these moves are so effective for kobe (all starting at the triple threat position) because he is a real-life triple threat. the "jab step" doesn't do jack to get the defender off balance unless they're legitimately afraid of you going to the basket left and right. in summation: easy for you to say Kobe, you talented bastard =P
@05sred He doesn't change jis pivot look at it again his pivot is his left foot he just turns around his defender but his left foot stay on the ground 2:43
@jesuibete0 you are correct on that part no doubt. what im saying was about the first play, 00:24 triple threat position, he jab with his right and then he took quick first step with his left foot.
@05sred Oh my bad but you are allowd to lift your pivot as long as you don't take another step.In other words you have to drop the ball before your pivot touch the floor and he did I remember a video of MJ he was saying you gotta be careful not to take a step before you start your dribble. For instance when you do a lay up: 1 step 2 step then you lift your pivot raise and do your lay up that's not a travel. If people were aware of that they wouldn't say Lebron travel in each and every video
@asdasasdfadsfasdfasd i believe it is, but the refs might not call it because you are jumping to make the shot. you can jump up after the pivot, but cannot step.
Mavericks didn't stop Kobe. They stopped his team.. And just because you know some of his moves doesn't mean you know which one he's going to use on you lol. shit's chess not checkers.
First move is a travel, jabs with his right foot, then moves his left (pivot) foot. Anyone who disagrees should look up Jordan's video on how to do crossover. Can't argue with MJ.
@michaelvontrapp Wrong, as long as your not holding on to the ball with both hands or carrying the ball. U are allowed to move your pivot as a dribble motion. For example , after using a triple threat release ur right hand / left hand off the ball and u can move either feet.
@haggis2308 he drop the ball before and refs call it when the defender get pass because of it but of course when you do it when nobody guards you in the backcourt they tolerate it
@michaelvontrapp Mj said it was a travel if your pivot touch the ground before the ball do... You really think Kobe won 5 championships without knowing fundamentals rules of basketball ? what is it a conspiracy ?
@4123945 Nope, but his actual move to this is jab step, drive by, dribble twice, pump fake, pivot and shoot. Even LBJ knows this move. See this link which he actually mention this move: /watch?v=ymnatD8qP60
@ThatFoolGuy oke im gonna make it easier for you, he jabs with his right foor, and then moves his left before the dribbel. thats travelling, even if the ball hits the floor before his left does.
@VinceTwiga Dude you really need to learn how to stfu this has been like 4 days and you made what? 3 comments in the same day? Holy shit kid take a break. Who gives a shit what you think it is. I didn't ask.
@VinceTwiga Not only that but it wouldn't be a travel unless he ran without dribbling... what you're talking about is called "DOUBLE DRIBBLE" not travelling. Either way you try to say, it's still wrong.
@VinceTwiga Dude this video is slowmo-ed. If this was a real game you wouldn't really see it. Video yourself doing what Kobe did and you'll see you "travelled" aswell. But it's not travelling.
@cfred171 And you diss Kobe for this? Look at damn lebron yo! He dives, travles, hits the other guy, pushes him, all in the same play and than begs for no foul.
@MrPueblo10 alright i guess your right lol they both do it. I'm not trying to start a kobe/lebron argument here cause i dont really like either of them
@Noobykins He dribbled the ball before his LEFT pivot foot hit the ground again. Yes he lifted his pivot foot first, but before his foot lands back on the ground, you must dribble. It would be a travel if the left pivot foot returned to the ground again before the ball did. Many players do this, and get called for the travel if they don't do it correctly.
@boboshah i think ur talking about dribbling getting into triple threat then dribbling again well if u recieve a pass and get into triple threat u can dribble however if u were to dribble triple threat and dribble it would be double dribble
can someone please explain to me that pivot move cause i heard that the foot that stays planted on the floor after the dribble cannot leave the floor or it is a travel sorry im new
@westtiger1234 Once you dribble and stop dribbling, you set one move: left or right foot as a pivot fight. That pivot foot can only be used to rotate around. You cannot move the pivot foot. Your other foot can be moved.
@westtiger1234 When you are holding the ball and not dribbling, you pick one foot to stay in place. You can spin around on it and move the other one, but the pivot foot must not move or it's a travel. Perfected, the pivot foot can be used in many defensive moves and can create time and space when you need to run the ball or pass it to a player.
@BENKATOK : no he can't...and if you look at my post you will see that im on the lebron side & i do think he's better than kobe but any thing lebron can do with the ball kobe can not only do it better but he can also do it with his left hand.
@lebron1kobe0 you re blind man, look further, behind the hype! kobe is better then lebron! he is not rundown he played great this year for a star his age after so many injouries! half his games were above 24 pts and had many over 30, avg-rbg 5 apg
he's got the lockout now... just operated his knee, he will work on his hops and bulk up, polish his shot... and then let's see who is rundown!
and so you know, kobe's position doesn't put him in a pass first position! lebron has the rock all the time
@lebron1kobe0 yeah, that's the kind of comment i love to hear when you can't argue with facts.... now gtfo here and get a girl instead of dreaming about guys sucking your dick (if you have such thing)
lol were all not that great when i try the reverse layup either luckily it goes in or it hits the rim hitting me back in the back of my head or i hit the bottom of the board
He is playing defense, Kobe is able to get him going in the wrong direction with a head fake before exploding the other way. In a real game you have to be able to drive in both directions off the triple threat to have any effectiveness. The video only shows Kobe jabbing right and driving right for the sake of brevity; the fact that Kobe can drive both directions is what opens up the defense and allows ball and head fakes to further open up the lanes.
@DownUnderD Exactly which is why it's called the triple threat. But some guys trying to do these moves only have one hand, or can't shoot, or can't dribble. You have to be good with either hand, have a jumper, good handles, the ability to read the defender to know what's open, and most importantly good reaction skills to make counter moves. I doubt anyone learning moves from a youtube video has those qualities though. So no wonder they can't do it.
@BrentWoodSean38 yeah, utilizing and passing are two different things. ive been through almost all the signature moves, there was only one variation where they passed it. all the other ones only used teammates as picks, or to fake a pass.
@BrentWoodSean38 Fuck was he supposed to pass it to, the air? That's what a scorer should do look to create a shot for himself and if someone gets open then hit them with a pass. It's not effective to try to create for someone else as the first option. You hear coaches and experts saying that all the time about really passive point guards. You have to prove that you can score the ball and aggressively attack the defense to demand the respect need to really get guys good looks.
@BettaWithToast I don't even think you get the point. Kobe has been a ball hog for the majority of his career. The only time it was necessary was in 05 when Shaq and all the core guys left, because at that point, the Lakers sucked. He even hogged the ball when he had the most dominate center and overall player at the time in Shaq, and Shaq bashed Kobe for his selfish play in several interviews that are well documented.
@BrentWoodSean38 Yeah and Shaq is the only player calling Kobe a ballhog and the media attached themselves to it now every time Kobe losses a game it's because he's A a ballhog or B quitting on his team to show they need him to shoot a lot of shots...it's the media they turn anything for a story. But lets not forget Shaq complained about teammates everywhere he went in Orlando, in L.A., and in Miami Shaq does it for attention. And people who hate kobe or dont know the game full for the hype.
@BettaWithToast That's because Shaq was the only player on the Lakers significant enough to have means to actually open his mouth. Shaq was also the one suffering the most, not the role players. The Lakers won three straight championships with the ball in Shaq's hand, not Kobe's. Kobe shot poorly in all but one of the championship seasons (the 2002 Finals when they played the Nets). Shaq was also MVP all three times, Kobe didn't even win it once. All proof that Shaq was right, now be gone
@BrentWoodSean38 Oh lets just overlook his game icing baskets and defensive plays all throughout those playoffs. The 40 point games the 15+ rebound games the games with 5+ defensive plays right. It was ALL Shaq. The only player to ever win by himself. And if Kobe was hogging so much how come Shaq got the ball so often in order to dominate? And how does Shaq outplaying Kobe make him a ballhog? Is Fisher a ballhog too? Ok he shot bad from the field that could be 3 of 9 doesn't mean your hogging.
@BettaWithToast (cont.) Of course Shaq was the man on the team nobody is arguing you that lol Shaq was dropping 40 points 20 rebounds 5 blocks games no other player in history of the finals would have got the MVP over Shaq execpt maybe Jordan in his 1st appearance. Shaq dominated the finals like no one has ever done. But some how that's making Kobe a worse player? lmao at the arguments people make against Kobe.
@BrentWoodSean38 I know so why bring it up like someone said it wasn't lol. That's my point. You bring it up as a part of your argument about Kobe being a ballhog because that isn't fact. That's bullshit. Since you want to believe everything Shaq said he said Kobe is the greatest to ever play basketball. When asked what about Michael he said Michael who. Since what Shaq says is all factual.
@BrentWoodSean38 I love how you just completely avoided everything I just said. And no it's not fact. Kobe isn't a ballhog in mine and many people's eyes. He's an excellent passer and a willing passer. But he's a scorer first so his first option is score at all times. That's not being a ballhog that's playing to his strengths. Just like MJ who took the most shots per game ever at 23 per game. He wasn't hogging the ball he was doing his job, being the teams scorer. Same with Kobe.
@BettaWithToast I love how you didn't comprehend when I said Kobe was, key word, was a ball hog, then when I said he still is at times, at times being the two key words. Pay better attention next time.
@BrentWoodSean38 Kobe wasn't a ballhog then either. He's always been a good passer and a score first player. He was when he was younger he still is today. The media doesn't give him such a hard time about it now because they win championships with him being the leading guy, but he's still the same guy he's always been. When his team gets into desperation mode he'll just run down a jack up the quickest makeable shot. He still attacks double teams. He's the same guy he's been.
@BrentWoodSean38 No I'm saying if he was a ballhog then he's a ballhog now. If not now then not then. He's the same player. you seem to just be a sheep for the media saying that he used to be a ballhog but not so much anymore only at times. That's not true he's Kobe. If that means a ballhogging asshole then that's what he is. If that's what I think, one of the greatest players ever and finds ways to get it done no matter what then that's who he is. Stop buying into everything you hear dude.
@BrentWoodSean38 He is. Coming from a fan who didn't miss a game since he had the fro. He's been my favorite player as long as I could remember. He's a better and more polished player but he's still a shoot first player and attacks double teams, run down and fire up 3 and 4 threes in a row. He is but of course you don't know that because you're not watching and from that dumb ass comment you just left me shows you're just being an asshole and not really speaking with logic I'm done.
@BettaWithToast obviously he is, as you will defend anything negative said about him. He's not the same player, he's an aging player who can't do the same things he did once upon a time, so he had to make adjustments like how most NBA veterans have had to do. He's not the same player, don't be retarded
@BrentWoodSean38 I don't mean same in terms of leaping the same and playing around the rim as much. I CLEARLY mean his mentality for the game. The desire to win and do whatever he feels is needed. Which has always been putting points on the board he says it all the time in interview how he's gonna get his shots and he looks to score first. Sure more of his points come via jumpshot instead of dunks and freethrows because he's not nearly as explosive. That goes without saying though.
@BettaWithToast he's not the same player, mentality doesn't change that. And no, you were not all that clear actually, but still changes the point in no way
lol kobe travels at 2:33 . he pivots with the right foot then lifts his left foot before dribbling. it's only obvious because they put it in slow motion tho. in normal speed you wouldn't notice at all....probably.
Since you're gonna assume stuff, I'll give it a shot as well. I'm assuming you're not smart enough to explain how it's NOT a travel, which explains your prepubescent reply. I won't be reading or replying to any of your posts so don't waste your time.
Kobe signature move:
1. Hold ball
2. Draw double team
3. Ignore wide open teammates
4. One dribble step back
5. Force up 20ft fade away
6. Scream for the foul
7. Receive technical foul if these steps dont work

FLASH2394 5 months ago
@Noobykins He dribbled the ball before his LEFT pivot foot hit the ground again. Yes he lifted his pivot foot first, but before his foot lands back on the ground, you must dribble. It would be a travel if the left pivot foot returned to the ground again before the ball did. Many players do this, and get called for the travel if they don't do it correctly.

Carmelo Dupree Signature move - The Shake N' Bake!
1. Steal the rock from your teammate.
2. Double dribble up the court.
3. Shake your ass whilst double dribbling
4. Place your foot on the defender right foot, as you run left.
5. Go in the air like Michael Jordan, and pull your penis out saying "BIATCH I GOT UPS"
6. Punch the ref in his fucking nose if he says you don't have the score.
This is Carmelo Dupree and this is my guide of the SHAKE N' BAKE.

dilan4me 8 months ago
Wtf? This guy isnt even playing defense, its way harder to do when there is someone actually make you force things
stratocaster60096 8 months ago
@stratocaster60096
DownUnderD 8 months ago
@DownUnderD Exactly which is why it's called the triple threat. But some guys trying to do these moves only have one hand, or can't shoot, or can't dribble. You have to be good with either hand, have a jumper, good handles, the ability to read the defender to know what's open, and most importantly good reaction skills to make counter moves. I doubt anyone learning moves from a youtube video has those qualities though. So no wonder they can't do it.
BettaWithToast 8 months ago
@BettaWithToast
It you can't shoot or dribble you shouldn't be playing basketball period let alone trying this stuff lol.
DownUnderD 8 months ago
notice how every one of his moves here is basically him creating his own shot, lol, the most selfish player in the league right here
BrentWoodSean38 8 months ago
@BrentWoodSean38 chill. all the signature videos are to set up a shot, not passing.
icyfire419 8 months ago
@icyfire419 not true, other guys in the series utilize other players in some form
BrentWoodSean38 8 months ago
@BrentWoodSean38 yeah, utilizing and passing are two different things. ive been through almost all the signature moves, there was only one variation where they passed it. all the other ones only used teammates as picks, or to fake a pass.
icyfire419 8 months ago
@icyfire419 I guess point guards & LeBron are not included.
BrentWoodSean38 8 months ago
@BrentWoodSean38 Fuck was he supposed to pass it to, the air? That's what a scorer should do look to create a shot for himself and if someone gets open then hit them with a pass. It's not effective to try to create for someone else as the first option. You hear coaches and experts saying that all the time about really passive point guards. You have to prove that you can score the ball and aggressively attack the defense to demand the respect need to really get guys good looks.
BettaWithToast 8 months ago
@BettaWithToast I don't even think you get the point. Kobe has been a ball hog for the majority of his career. The only time it was necessary was in 05 when Shaq and all the core guys left, because at that point, the Lakers sucked. He even hogged the ball when he had the most dominate center and overall player at the time in Shaq, and Shaq bashed Kobe for his selfish play in several interviews that are well documented.
BrentWoodSean38 8 months ago
@BrentWoodSean38 Yeah and Shaq is the only player calling Kobe a ballhog and the media attached themselves to it now every time Kobe losses a game it's because he's A a ballhog or B quitting on his team to show they need him to shoot a lot of shots...it's the media they turn anything for a story. But lets not forget Shaq complained about teammates everywhere he went in Orlando, in L.A., and in Miami Shaq does it for attention. And people who hate kobe or dont know the game full for the hype.
BettaWithToast 8 months ago
@BettaWithToast That's because Shaq was the only player on the Lakers significant enough to have means to actually open his mouth. Shaq was also the one suffering the most, not the role players. The Lakers won three straight championships with the ball in Shaq's hand, not Kobe's. Kobe shot poorly in all but one of the championship seasons (the 2002 Finals when they played the Nets). Shaq was also MVP all three times, Kobe didn't even win it once. All proof that Shaq was right, now be gone
BrentWoodSean38 8 months ago
@BrentWoodSean38 Oh lets just overlook his game icing baskets and defensive plays all throughout those playoffs. The 40 point games the 15+ rebound games the games with 5+ defensive plays right. It was ALL Shaq. The only player to ever win by himself. And if Kobe was hogging so much how come Shaq got the ball so often in order to dominate? And how does Shaq outplaying Kobe make him a ballhog? Is Fisher a ballhog too? Ok he shot bad from the field that could be 3 of 9 doesn't mean your hogging.
BettaWithToast 8 months ago
@BettaWithToast (cont.) Of course Shaq was the man on the team nobody is arguing you that lol Shaq was dropping 40 points 20 rebounds 5 blocks games no other player in history of the finals would have got the MVP over Shaq execpt maybe Jordan in his 1st appearance. Shaq dominated the finals like no one has ever done. But some how that's making Kobe a worse player? lmao at the arguments people make against Kobe.
BettaWithToast 8 months ago
@BettaWithToast it's no argument, it's fact
BrentWoodSean38 8 months ago
@BrentWoodSean38 I know so why bring it up like someone said it wasn't lol. That's my point. You bring it up as a part of your argument about Kobe being a ballhog because that isn't fact. That's bullshit. Since you want to believe everything Shaq said he said Kobe is the greatest to ever play basketball. When asked what about Michael he said Michael who. Since what Shaq says is all factual.
BettaWithToast 8 months ago
@BettaWithToast everyone knows Kobe was a ball hog, and still is at times today, so again, there is no argument, just fact
BrentWoodSean38 8 months ago
@BrentWoodSean38 I love how you just completely avoided everything I just said. And no it's not fact. Kobe isn't a ballhog in mine and many people's eyes. He's an excellent passer and a willing passer. But he's a scorer first so his first option is score at all times. That's not being a ballhog that's playing to his strengths. Just like MJ who took the most shots per game ever at 23 per game. He wasn't hogging the ball he was doing his job, being the teams scorer. Same with Kobe.
BettaWithToast 8 months ago
@BettaWithToast I love how you didn't comprehend when I said Kobe was, key word, was a ball hog, then when I said he still is at times, at times being the two key words. Pay better attention next time.
BrentWoodSean38 8 months ago
@BrentWoodSean38 Kobe wasn't a ballhog then either. He's always been a good passer and a score first player. He was when he was younger he still is today. The media doesn't give him such a hard time about it now because they win championships with him being the leading guy, but he's still the same guy he's always been. When his team gets into desperation mode he'll just run down a jack up the quickest makeable shot. He still attacks double teams. He's the same guy he's been.
BettaWithToast 8 months ago
@BettaWithToast LMFAO, you must be a kobtard. Go look his numbers up. You keep saying media this, media that. News flash, the media overrates Kobe
BrentWoodSean38 8 months ago
@BrentWoodSean38 No I'm saying if he was a ballhog then he's a ballhog now. If not now then not then. He's the same player. you seem to just be a sheep for the media saying that he used to be a ballhog but not so much anymore only at times. That's not true he's Kobe. If that means a ballhogging asshole then that's what he is. If that's what I think, one of the greatest players ever and finds ways to get it done no matter what then that's who he is. Stop buying into everything you hear dude.
BettaWithToast 8 months ago
@BettaWithToast "He's the same player"
Keep embarrassing yourself
BrentWoodSean38 8 months ago
@BrentWoodSean38 He is. Coming from a fan who didn't miss a game since he had the fro. He's been my favorite player as long as I could remember. He's a better and more polished player but he's still a shoot first player and attacks double teams, run down and fire up 3 and 4 threes in a row. He is but of course you don't know that because you're not watching and from that dumb ass comment you just left me shows you're just being an asshole and not really speaking with logic I'm done.
BettaWithToast 8 months ago
@BettaWithToast obviously he is, as you will defend anything negative said about him. He's not the same player, he's an aging player who can't do the same things he did once upon a time, so he had to make adjustments like how most NBA veterans have had to do. He's not the same player, don't be retarded
BrentWoodSean38 8 months ago
@BrentWoodSean38 I don't mean same in terms of leaping the same and playing around the rim as much. I CLEARLY mean his mentality for the game. The desire to win and do whatever he feels is needed. Which has always been putting points on the board he says it all the time in interview how he's gonna get his shots and he looks to score first. Sure more of his points come via jumpshot instead of dunks and freethrows because he's not nearly as explosive. That goes without saying though.
BettaWithToast 8 months ago
@BettaWithToast he's not the same player, mentality doesn't change that. And no, you were not all that clear actually, but still changes the point in no way
