  • This is a rare video where someone calls out other videos, then properly backs it up. Great control of recoil!

  • Sgt, thank you for posting this video.

I have 3 questions I want to ask you.

    (1) Have you ever fired FAL rifle? If so, what is your impression?

    (2) If you had handled the FAL, which rifle do you prefer over the other - the FAL or RFB?

    Thank you, Sgt.

Btw, I still remember about 50% of my 11 General orders.

    Always Faithful

  • I have a Canadian RFB with an 18 inch barrel and muzzle jump is somewhat significant. I'm debating about having the barrel threaded and a muzzle brake installed. What is a really insane is that the rifle shows incredible accuracy potential. It shoots a hand loaded 130 gr Speer varmint bullet at quarter to half MOA at 100 yards from a bench if I do my part and squeeze the trigger in a controlled way. How's the accuracy on yours ?

  • Nice! That PWS sure keeps it tight on the follow ups.

  • Did you ever take that to the range in the summer of 2010?

I was at birchwood one day, it was summer, and I was shooting either an Arsenal Saiga, an AR-15, or both, and there was a guy shooting an RFB. Think it might have been you.

  • @ak49vigilante

It was probably me. I had the only one in the state for quite a while.

  • i want one so bad. i think thats the next small investment i will save for

  • Local Alaskan here! Interested in parting with your RFB??

    Great video and review!

  • @ITR406 think he has it for sale on alaskas list.com right now

  • Good information about RFB, thanks for sharing.

  • how does this do at bench rest?

  • @samuraimoose

With the Hornady 168 AMAX Match ammo it shoots just under 1 MOA at 100 yards, but this is with only 4 power magnification and a 1 moa dot. I think it will do slightly better with a finer reticle and a high contrast small dot target. Good enough, in other words.

  • You said in a previous post that the gas system has 32 settings. How often do you have to adjust the gas system? Can it be kind of finicky?

  • @freekazoid05

I fired 350 rounds one day without cleaning before it became dirty enough to require a click more gas to cycle. It just FTF'ed so I turend it up a click and it finished out the 500 rounds.

Also changing ammunition requires a gas setting chaneg, but it's easy to do....Or you can avoid it completely if you just always use the same ammo. for me it's PRVI Partisan 168GRM HPBT MATCH. ~75 Cents a round and hold 1.25" groups out of this rifle.

  • Were you pushing out with the far hand or pulling in? Just trying to get a feel for the dynamics of your position. Thanks for posting.

  • @masterkeep

Pulling in, and forcing a solid cheekweld. crouching forward slightly with shoulders pretty squared up.

  • @AKEVELFAN So a pretty normal military standing position. Thanks for the quick answer.

  • Good SHTF rifle?

  • @THEKINGOFMETROPOLIS

With practice, the best...Especailly if you don't know what range you might need to engage. Nothing does 0-800 yards better.

  • @AKEVELFAN Good to hear, Im thinking of putting this in my SHTF kit. My Springfield XDM .40 and the RFB are gonna make a winning combo I think.

  • disassemble rifle if failure to eject ? i like it but to make safe , mag empty action open have a look ,,ehhhh no can do , the fs 2000 seems better in this reguard , i would like to compare ,RFB, its ergonomics with a m1a bullpup , i forget the manufacturer.OF THAT STOCK KIT

  • @1abcrr1

About 3000 rounds now and not a single failure to eject. At the KTOG forum there has not been any mention of it ever happening on any rifle.

Probably due to the double extractors on this design, the case is held firm and put into the ejection chute, it's extremely relaible.

  • @AKEVELFAN wish i could get one , california politicians are hopalophobes sp . still i stand by the fs seeming to better as a provision to visually inspect chamber is provided . now if fs 2000 was in 6.8mm i couldnt sleep on my belly anymore , humor mode off ;-) hey the mags are fal metric mags a proven system so i guess no fail to feed either hmm

  • @1abcrr1 That's why I would never willingly move to California. I hate California politics so bad I could spit. About the only thing they're starting to get right is the state's rights stance on pot. I don't smoke it and I don't encourage it, but if someone wants to, it should be a state's prerogative to allow it.

  • @dinkyblack1 i would like to take this time to apologize to the rest of the republic for my States ,california, horrible communist inspired anti gun laws , i am but one lonely voice in the woods , i hear other in the distance but we are far apart and cant defete the evil within my native land ;-)

  • @1abcrr1

I lived in Clifornia for 8 years afetr I got out of the Corps.

Got sick of it so I took my small business and left the state in 2000.

    Never coming back.

  • @AKEVELFAN forgot to ask anyreloads thri the bad boy . or just store bought ?!

  • @1abcrr1

I haven't trie dany reloads, all kinds of different storebought stuff though.

My favorite is the PRVI Partisan 168GR BTHP Match. It's only 75 cents a round and accurate.

  • Nice shooting. I never would have thought the RFB could be controlled that well.

  • Hows the reliability. Really intersed in getting one. If i can find one

  • @DSMtsi23

It has proven very reliable. It has a fully adjustable gas system with something like 32 positions which is a big reliability multiplier....Get a FTF after 350 rounds without a cleaning ? Turn it up a click and no more FTF. Also the charging handle is hard coupled to the bolt and can be used as a forward assist.

I think this rifle covers the 0-800 range better than anything else out there.

  • You do seem well on your way to maximizing the effectiveness of this unique and powerful firearm.

I agree with the concept of getting the off hand farther out for better stability and control.

    Thanks for the video.
