How to Restore an Expired Diablo 2 Character

What to do if I click ''Delete Character'' on a char that's ''Expired'' and ''Character cannot be found'', but nothing happens after I've confirmed I want to ''Delete Character'' but nothing happens after I click ''Yes''? ;o

this is why i have clan names got 7 accounts all 56 characters + mules were expired... 1,3 years later i logged in for fun... i found Everything back again. but their non-ladder obviously now.

Hahaha and blizzard claims your account gets deleted in 3 months or 6 what ever..

Hmm, this was quite fun; All my high levels apart from my 87 sorc "Mortera" was not expired. It was just the sorc that was expired and all my mules were active. At least I still had my poerfect hammerdin and mules to start of somewhere. :)

You can recover expired characters unless someone else has taken the name after it expired, Don't delete it just keep trying it lol you could recover it if they delete the name or remake char to diff class

@reptheh if your account has not been used you can set clock back on computer to when account was still there and it will restore it if you try log in

I just logged on today to see that I lost 6 characters all were over levels 80 and 90 and before this i had an account years ago where i lost a 99 barb, 99 pally, and 99 amazon, as well as a 97 necro and 96 sorc.. fuck this game, bring on D3.

does a character only expire if the name is used by another player or is blizzard the judge of what names are "popular" etc

for instance, i had a lvl 92 assassin called Xer and something can't remember, however it was expired. Was this because somebody else actually tried to use the same name, or because blizzard just assumed that the name would be used?

@rastan1977 and blizzard made the best hack'n'slash there would ever be in it's likeness for pc. So no other director team ever tried to beat them. That's why diablo 2 has lasted 10 healthy years and it still going.

@MasterChief07 I have been playing D since 01 pretty much when it come out, I have been playing on vista the last couple years, since it came out. After you get it installed and everything is good to go, just right click the shortcut, In there click Run As Administrator. Click Allow and/or Run. If it still come up with a pop up Saying non-sense, with two buttons Run Program or Cancel. Just click Run. Should be set. xD =]

If you have a char that have expired, and it says "Player not found", it means someone took your name. This means, your char is gone. That's it. There's no way to restore it, what-so-ever.

This is the problem with this game. if you got a good name your fucked. For example my levle 94 Hdin Named Liberty which is a crazy name is fucking dead, Poliwhirl levle 92 druid is fucking dead, Rebate my fucking smiter is dead, Shmexy My assasin is dead. Atleast my levle 92 blizz sorc Chopard is not (i have no idea why no one took it)

When A ladder character expire he go to non ladder... and when he's expire it's write ''non ladder'' and ''expire''... then you clic and it's not... why? because he just past from ladder to non ladder...

hahaha, wow. being on ladder or non ladder has nothing to do with expirations, lol. you are simply misinformed. an expired character is one that hasnt been played in 90 days, it expires and other players can use his name. this prevents every single name in the game from being used. if another player uses your name, your original cahracter is deleted.

hi again,finally got a new key for dia2 and appearantly my accs name wasnt that unique.

couldnt recover my expired highlvl acc but instead my other acc with a lvl 70 MF sorc.

stopped playing both at the same time so
