I did my dissertation on this - I must have watched it about 15 times, yet I still see new things in this text each time I watch it. Staggeringly brilliant. And all we have now is Lynda La Plante ITV murder mysteries and things starring Caroline Quentin as a busy working mum, etc. etc.... Nobody did Life, Sex and Death like Den.
