I love squid! Yum yum! There is an asian market by me that sells it so cheap, you just have to cut and clean it all yourself, like this video. :3 No problem~! ^_^

I'm not a fan of seafood, but octopus isn't bad. I can't remember if it's eel or squid that has the very strong fish taste.

@wollclark I'm not much of a seafood fan either. Your experience with eel or squid was maybe not so fresh; As far as I know fresh fish shouldn't taste fishy. If it's not that, the next closest thing I can think of is uncooked freshwater eel, because fresh squid tastes fairly bland. But I've never heard of anyone eating uncooked eel...

I ate some at a Japanese place called Fuji in northeastern Alabama, it was slightly cooked. I noticed it amongst the rest of the food because it was kind of a golden brown with a very strong fish taste, the rest seemed to be tasteless, strange textures. Octopus however had the texture of beef or chicken, with a very slight taste that I can't remember right now.

@wollclark That's probably eel then, if it was golden brown and cooked - it should have a slightly sticky texture. I'm thinking maybe it wasn't very fresh though, because good eel tastes amazing - it's actually my favourite out of all options. On the other hand the octopus I've had has been very tough each time. I'm not sure what it should be like - definitely not my favourite though. I'll stick to calamari :)
