once you go to the canaries you dont wont to go anywhere else on holiday, lanzarote 7 times gran canaria 2 times and fuertaventura 1 time although didnt really like it there, havent been to tenerife yet cause it abit more expensive to fly there.

Don't think forgot to say, we've been going there for the last 14 years and generally do land over the sea as you say but if the wind is blowing in the wrong direction they have to land from a different direction though has only happened to us once.

@danlucamkie That's right, I just flew back from there last night and 2 weeks earlier I landed there, also via the sharp turn. You nearly never see them fly in straight.

@danlucamkie coming in over the sea is better, especially when you get to the beach and see all the people at the bottom of the runway, and this has happend to me once as well and ive been 7 times.
