If you lived in Far Rockaway you went to the spot called Abatis Hall down on Beach 90th street and partied all nite........ This was one of the first disco records.
Remember this being played by ROBBIE VINCENT on his BBC radio show and rushed out to buy it when it got a release on Contempo in Britain .. there may have been a Contempo 12" version too .. in which case it could have been the first 12" 45 in Britain.
Loved it when I first heard it, still love it .. fabulous stuff .. so simple and yet so effective.
Wow...this song I always loved it but I never knew the name of it and then I learned it was called Atmosphere and Strut but by who?? and for YEARS I have not heard it so THANKS big time to Discusyan!! You truly are da MAN! That was a WAY better era than this shitty era of today. Thanks for the memories!
I used to wear a slim-fit, cream bowling shirt with 2 black pleats at the back.... hustling back & forth across the floor. Man oh man !
A classic.... luv it. And BT Express "Express" ..... "South African Man".... "Cocomotion" .... "Trinidad" .... "Devil's Gun" .... "You + Me" .... "Six Million Steps" .... "I Love N Y" .... "Delerium" .... "Do What You Wanna Do".
..hi boots! ..same here!was not one that had the car and tape player/8 track back in the day,but had mates that did, used to go to 'Lacy Lady' in Ilford,'Gold Mine'in Canvey, but this tune did it for me back in the day!took me over 30 years to find it!..i thank You Tube for the (..Re..)discovery!!..also discusyan for the post!,,nice one dude!
Oh God..... this is the Bird's Nest at Muswell Hill...& Manor House Discoteque...& The Royalty at Southgate. 1977... WOW! I luv this so so much. Soft-shuffle-hustle-dance disco. I remember how I danced to this!!
