For me it is a fantastic drive home into my memories... Somthing, you'll never forget, something to think, somesomething to keep it forever in your mind...
Grandpa has gone sine I've been 9 years old... But I still hear his voice...
It's too bad steam locomotives aren't working to their full potential anymore. In the early 20th century they ruled the main lines pulling freight and passenger trains. Nowadays they're either scrapped, in museums , or on tourist lines. At least they're preserved for future generations. I wish they ran on the main lines pulling freight and passenger trains again.
Beautiful song one of the greatest waltz tempo beats ever. I grew up in Hawaii no trains but I have memories for the big sugar cane truck rolling down the back roads.
There's very few songs that bring back memories of my god-father but this surely does it. You see he was not just a man, but a rail road man. My god-father was at one time the president of the Atlantic Coast Line railroad. You may not know that name. But I'm sure you've seen what the ACL has become. Today it lives on as CSX Transportation. I will forever miss him. R.I.P Prime Osborn.
That's my step dad John singing this song - at the very end you can see him and my little brother Mike walk down the train tracks. He wrote this song him and his grandfather - this is still one of my favorite videos that they did! :)
I just lost my aunt who was always like my grandmother, even my 2nd mom, and this is one of the many songs that brings back memories for me with her. She and I did everything together, and I miss her so much. Hearing this makes me cry a river of tears because I would give everything I have to get those days back and have her back in my life. Hold on to your loved one's and your memories, they are gone too soon. I love you Doe Doe. Thank you for everything. You're in my heart forever.
My Grandpa passed away in May of 05 and the first I heard this song I cried,I remember sitting in Highland park in Kokomo,In with him watching the trains rolling in and out of the scrap yard of the steel mill where he worked for 30 years, til they shut it down in 86,the tracks ly still and the steel mill is gone now, like song when I go by that empty feild where mill once stood I can still see it there and my grandpa waving to my school bus every morning on my way to school,R.I.P.grandpa
The grandpa is my step dad Vance Vernon. So hard to watch without crying, he was the most amazing man. Those light blue eyes were the windows to a man full of soul. RIP VoVo. I will see you soon. Love Linda
This fantastic group has and will always be my favorite of all time.... I still have the cassettes ----Ive updated to the cds but I just couldnt part with the cassettes
