To conquer something means that it no longer controls you or your life. I does not mean not to ever do it, it just means that the obsessions no longer controls your though and your actions or you life an your will. If you personal have to abstain in order to do that then that is what you have to do but to expect other to need or have to live up to the same ideal is ludicrous. Guruka Singh nailed this one and described it better than any other explanation I ever heard. Thank You for your insight.
Guruka singh talks all experience, but his approach is rather of a humble sikh who is humbler to his flaws and not critical of it
When he says something about dancing and consummating at your will and any time you'd want to, I believe he knows that it isn't the whole truth. One has to get frivolous enjoyments out of their consciousness. That is where 'ghaalna' comes in. When guru sahib says 'manne seyo loojhe', it is clear that sikh shall struggle with his own self not going with the flow
Or can you wear 5 kakkars and have sex does one have to cover hair or keep kachaera on some rehat say you must keep them on even with partner then do ishnan immediately not waiting. What is the best age for marriage? Is dating multiple partners right? Can a women date many men? Can a man date many women? Can a women marry multiple men like arjun and his brothers did in krishnas time?
Next set of questions would probably get more specific like views on pedophila, polygamy, preconsciousity- one night stands, dating, homosexuality, divorce and marriage, contraception, abortion, music sexual lyrics e.g. 50 cent, teenage puberty, flirting, checking out opposite gender, masturbation. Different sikhs have different views and many would differ however when everyone sits in gurdwara automatically we all know there is a certain discpline and way to act normally the rehat is one then.
Generally speaking husband and wife express themselves in those ways which were kept taboo to talk about in India even though the shy lovers books the kaama sutra flowed around as well as initimate imagery of shiva throughout locations of india and tantric yoga. For the modern sense kaam is in intoxication of sexual misconduct. If one thinks no kaam is obessed sexuality then you may think one night stands are okay to do even as an amritdhari there are rehat rules for mukhti as guidelines
Ok technically the english word lust takes more roots from bibilcal understanding such as those of glutney relating to lust. However the sanskrit vedaic term of kaama or kaam is what gurbani is talking about of the thinking behind this. However when vices or five thieves are given they interrelated terms from sufis the nafs, the buddhist, indian views of inner demons of maya. There are many tantric works and sutras about the sexual energy of creation etc. But chitraypakhian gives different views

Some people are like gold, they glitter,
Some are like 'parasmani', they convert others to gold to glitter,
but some are such a 'mani' (like guruka singh) who make others like themselves (mani)
Salute to you from my 'self'
