  • This was a very felt and one of the most emotinal songs ever . it seems that a bit od giult followed Andys freinds who had got sent to indo -china to kill the yellow man . A bit of guilt about those who came home just to find that their old friends and the cou ntry in general never felt the horros they went home and those veterans were disrepected by most fof their freinds. I know cause I was one of them!!

  • great song

how come is not recognizes as one of his best?

  • Always loved the sax on this. I'm also amused by the self-absorbed folks trying to draw some "deep" connection between the song's silly lyrics and Afghanistan. There's a very real threat to civilization lurking in Afghanistan. However, if you spend your days toking, you don't really give a crap about real problems, do you? That's right: "Bring 'em home!' Lou Reed was great in his day . . . John Cale was equally good . . .
