This song just speaks to me. Some days, it means something completely different. One time through I could be jamming to it, while other times its almost a sad song. The emotions that are stirred in this song really show this bands talent. You can literally make this song into however it speaks to you. The only way I can describe it is inspiration at its simplest audio form.
The Weird Fishez part is about the pinnacle of what can be accomplished in pop/rock music. They honestly should have just hung it up after this song, grabbed their nuts, and said, "Suck it, Bitches!" Because honestly...it's over! No one can produce anything like this.
Last Flowers 15 step Reckoner Weird Fishes House of Cards Airbag Paranoid Android Just Punch up at a wedding The Tourist...... In fact fuck it, every single tune is a gem in its own right!!!
I'm very familiar with the entire radiohead catalogue and I think that weird fishes (album version) is possibly their best work. I think they've gotten the balance of angst and escapism spot on with this song and it's perfection in imperfection is mind blowing. an amazing song.
knives out let down pyramid song morning bell fake plastic trees fade out exit music these are some of my fav's not to mention... idioteque and national anthem which are insanely awesome live!!!! all their music is incredible! enjoy!!!!!
mojopins15: I was actually going to say a different Radiohead song, or Cymbal Rush, which is by Thom Yorke. Or maybe something by Gnarls Barkley? Maybe Just A Thought? Jigsaw Falling Into Place is also probably a better song, and Nude, now that is just too beautiful for its own good. Also, I don't think EVERYONE is going to disagree, because I've already had 2 thumbs up. Maybe more, I expect you gave me a thumbs down. However, that's not to say that I dislike the song, it is beautiful.
yes i gave you a thumbs down. Jigsaw is good, so is nude, but this is alot better. So much more composed. In Rainbows is defo there best material, lets hope they just get better and better
Nude is a bit more technical in terms of composition and dynamics etc, and in my opinion is a much better song than this, but i still love this song. IN RAINBOWS best album of 2008!
my fave off the in rainbows album would be All I Need, sure not technically outstanding but the way it crescendos at the end sends shivers down the spine, same with Climbing Up The Walls on OK Computer. However, their best song, in my lowly opinion, Pyramid song, is both technically and musically beautiful.
also off in rainbows (B-sides), and is worth a look, is Go Slowly
radiohead themselves has at lease 20 better songs... how to disappear, pyramid, let down, climbing up the walls, kid a, exit music, idioteque, reckoner, motion picture soundtrack - all better then arpeggi.
Not to mention countless of other songs by many other artists - some from the 80's, some not - that are just better then arpeggi.
I love this song. But there's no way it's the best song ever composed. You still have a lot to discover about music
It's not about what song is "better" it's about how the song makes you feel, and what it makes you see in your mind's eye. Obviously it is you who doesn't know much about music.
Dude, anyone is entitled to his own opinion. Don't try to appear the most wise man about music because there's not such a thing as "better tastes", or u'll appear to be a fool instead.
Personally i love this song and is one of my fav from radiohead. To my this is far better than most of those u mention, but hey thats my opinion!
Petiber to say that they have at least 20 better other songs simply isnt true,,, Don't get me wrong I love Radiohead but that is a subjective question and that very well may have been Mojopins15's opinion. Personally I think its one of there best aswell.
Oh man 8 times. I would give anything just to see them once. maybe the problem is that i'm from russia and such band as Radiohead is not gonna visit this wild uncivilized country:(
then you can easily go to the nearest country they are stopping at. hopefuly it's not as difficult to cross the border in latin america as it is in russia
1. Radiohead has to use some magic in their music. This is so simple and still NEVER gets boring.
2. First I heard Radiohead live I thought. "Whoa. Are there two Thom's on stage" It was only then I figured out it was Ed... Wow. He sound really good too.
3. Radiohead has to be the best band in the world. Who doubts that?
In Rainbows was the first time I ever heard Radiohead... after hearing the album and especially this song I was amazed. This is my favorite song on the album.
these guys play here like a couple of mates playing at there local pub having a laugh and good times.... and with such talent its something thats sadly missing and i wish these guys the best. true legends
It's really fascintating, back to their early period. Their live in such a small place is more touching than Glastonbury festival, it's warmer and closer to me, especially for songs in "In Rainbows".
They connect to the cosmic computer. You can sense the emotion in their music. This is unlike all main stream crap. Long live Radiohead. They drive me to tears.
Please don't put Colplay in the same league as Radiohead. There is Radiohead and then there is Radiohead, Coldplay is horrible dude, songs written for children.
lol, songs for children. Their new album is "Prospekt", can you realise that they are trying to be more "creative"?lolllll...
Here is my personal experience: Once I knew Radiohead in this universe, I trashed all Coldplay stuff. I started with Coldplay and bands like that, but ended up into Radiohead the most. I am a late* RADIOHEAD FAN. Haha, I was born in the 90's.
i like in rainbows more than httt, cause it sounds for me happier, nicer, not so angry and depressed like httt. and the band itself seems to have a lot of fun playing this wonderfull music.
fair statement, but then again, Thom Yorke's favorite song (How to Disappear Completely) is rather depressing. and his favorite song on In Rainbows is Videotape, which is also rather sad
people always get that wrong and it bugs me. he never said 'how to disappear completely completely' was his favourite. he said it was the one he was most proud of. there's a difference.
ya, this is their deepest ablum. You think it's sublime, while the rest of the fans think it's sensual. Urhhh...horible. I hate people said that they "fucked to" In Rainobws!
It IS a sensual album...."i don't want to be your friend/I just want to be your lover"...it's sublime and lush and all those other things too of course
i wonder why always choose UK,Us,France or similar countries to prepare such kind of good and strange concerts..and wonder why they never think to visit Turkey despite they have a lot of fans here..well somethings reminds me kinda "God Loves His Children??!!??..Applauds go to Radiohead who let to please Colonist Countries children..Yeah,however They are god's children....What a great Pity!!!
Yea, they would be one of the best bands in these 20 years as well, trust me. When it comes to music review for these 10 years in 2010 (coming soon), they would be listed in the first 3 places AGAIN. Just like in year 2000. I can anticipate it and I am proud of it.
I would love the see Radiohead do a tour of the States but just play small venues. I live in Philadelphia and would love to see them play at the Trocadaro or another small club.
This song is easily the best one when played live, being full of emotions. The strange thing is that I usually skip it when listening to the CD - it's just not the same.
