@Wmtmt I was the boy in the video. It took me a long time to figure out what was wrong in my life. For a long time I was attracted to abusive people because I didn't understand what abuse was. When people were nice I didn't trust them.
I am 27 now and have made some good, nurturing friends in my life. I had my first relationship when I was 25. I'm on my second now. I've cut off all contact with my parents. I feel I am heading in a positive direction.
The things that the adults do in this video is disgusting. They threaten withdrawal of affection on the kid's birthday of all days. Any mother that tells her child he looks stupid when he's displaying excitement is a nasty woman.
It's heartbreaking how this boy is able to be joyful in such a nasty atmosphere! :(
