I watched it in English, and personally I would rather watch serious series dubbed than subbed. Man... these voices... sound hawt. o-o for dub. Subs are nice because it's a nice language to listen to.. xd I don't really know how they emphasize on words and such.. so I honestly would have a hard time knowing if a Japanese VA was good or bad if I were listening to them (they'd just sound like the other Jap voices to me) but it's so easy to tell when the English voices are bad because... well, I understand them! But I like not having to read subtitles, I know that. :)

When was the last time anybody heard the term Universal Century? I miss the one year war and I'm not too impressed with the direction Gundam has taken in the last decade. I would love to see more from the original universe or even Gundam Wing, I'd settle for that.
What a lot of people fail to mention is.. that with subs you have to read the translation (unless you speak japanese!?!?) so your eyes are reading instead following what is going on. And while the english voices may seem dead, looking at the facial expressions shows emotion...unless you are reading the translation subbers.
i like both the dub and sub versions of this series, and i think it's a really good gundam franchise.. but i can't help but lol everytime setsuna utters the word gundam with so much emotion as if he's inlove with it.. but what keeps me wondering though is that why they call their gundams gundam, they didn't bother to explain it at all.. unlike in wing where they said it's made of gundaium alloy, or in gs/gsd where it's the acronym of the OS of the prototype mobile suits explaining why it is so.
Setsuna's perfect. The english dub is one of the best that I've heard. I usually prefer subs, but I fell in love with the dub and stuck with it. When I heard the meisters' character songs, I was disappointed with them (except for Allelujah's). If you thought the dub for 00 was bad, check out Seed and Wing, they suck a lot more. (It's hard to believe Feldt and Lacus/Meer had the same voice acter, Meer was so annoying. Murrue, Relena, and Sumeragi also had the same VA but the latter sounds best)
It's stupid to try and rationally convince someone to like sub or dub better. It's a matter of personal taste, not logic. I dislike the acting style of Japanese seiyus, so I prefer English dubs, and no amount of telling me about how the voices don't fit the characters or it's not the original way it was meant to be seen is going to change my mind. I thought the voices were well-done for the English dub. When you're used to the sub voices, of course the dub isn't going to fit. YOU'RE USED TO SUB.

ive been watching anime since Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon were on Toonami, which means i have been watching anime since i was like 10 or 11

@MagicFrog13 No, the dub didn't cut ANYTHING. That's only if you watched the version that aired on Syfy channel, which had to cut to meet FCC standards and fit into their schedule. If you watch the English dub from the retail DVDs, it is completely uncut.
@minisiets Right on! I preferred the dub version of this too. I think a lot of the Japanese voice actor are monotone. I only look at subs when the dub is nowhere to be found.
A Little FYI for those complaining about Dub, the reason why subbing is better than dub, is because the fact that anime was made originally in Japan. Example, if you were to watch a cartoon such as, Spongebob, which originated in America and then watch it in Japan, you'd probably prefer the English Version than the Japanese. And if my explanation isn't convincing enough, then you guys should stick to your subbed Trailers than watching a dub trailer. Making it so, that no one has to be upset.
The sound didnt fit the setsuna, japanese voice by Mamoru Miyano who is 27 compare on the other hand the english voice by Brad Swaile is 34.
Overall of the japan voice actor is young and talent... This is anime watch between people especially kid and teen love it (include me). no opinion of the adult they too old.."wat kid think if they see their young/old parent is watching cartoon/anime?

... My opinion disagrees... people who like subs like it because it sounds natural (emotion, tone, etc). Your saying a person would prefer the language he/she first watched. Personally, I've watch dubs before but whenever i watch the same show in subs it always seems better to me. This doesn't go for just japanese anime of course, but for all shows of all languages. So therefore, i argue that sequence isn't the main reason, but rather natural flow.
@nwre My argument, was not based on first watch, it was based on where it originated. Again, my argument was towards those trolling a dub video, when they preferred sub. If someone hated dub so much, why would they even brother watching a dub video? I guess they just want attention. And as for your opinion, your entitled to it. the dubs are very poor, all the emotions an the exitement of the serie has got lost because the voices don't fit with the chracters and also is so fuckin' plain, not even in Ali Al Sacheez the scream of exitement is well fited, english dubs suck.
@jdurriaga the english actors spend way too much time trying to sound cool instead of trying to sound believable. The japanese version makes this show ten times better to watch.
gundam seed series were the Best in my opinion, I did watch like 10 episodes of this series but it's just so slow in my opinion. But still good series
Each gundam series had in independant story line with the exception of series' the start out similar like gundam seed and gundam seed destiny. It does not matter which one you start with though I suggest gundam seed. Gundam wing seemed a little like a soap opera to me. Please note that not all gundam series' are dubbed.

granted, im not well versed with many of the gundam series, but i dont recall any other protagonist being as emotionally unstable as kira. he's similar to shinji from evangelion. therefore, cafc543 would be correct in saying that kira was the biggest "fag" piloting a gundam if he were talking about main protagonists, which would be a fact, not an opinion.

both, gundam 00 and code geass are from sunrise so i would say that there are definetly simalareties but its not the same^^ besides, i like code geass more

While Gundam as a whole started long before, I believe this specific series actually aired very soon after Code Geass. So people claiming that the animation/designs are CG-ripoffs aren't in the wrong...chronologically at least. ;)

@Tigertooth92 he's still the protagonist and they wanted to make it clear he was a child who would have a dark history ahead of him, so they gave him a serious and mature voice. Its a little out of place, but it sounds cool, and one he reaches the right age it fits great.

This is the LATEST Gundam series out. For the start, you need to go all the way back to Mobile Suit Gundam which was made in 1979. If continuity is your worry, then don't worry, because each Gundam story, e.g. Mobile Suit Gundam, Gundam Wing, Gundam SEED, Gundam 00, etc. are all set in separate universes and individual continuities. Gundam 00 is the start of it's own unique story. As for blood and swearing, both are just mild, but it's definitely not 'kiddy'. It's quite political too.
I tried SEED I hated the characters,robots,and the fights in 00 I thought were better,my favorite right now is gundam wing because the story is interesting and the gundams kick ass
Yeah, Gundam Wing had a nice storyline, interesting characters and was really realistic because it didn't have anything "out of this world." Unlike other gundams like Gundam seed having Coordinators, Gundam/ Z / ZZ having Newtypes and Gundam 00 having GN particles etc.

and i love the ones where the translated sentences just dont make sense. most of the subs i watch are online but i do have a masked rider dvd (not anime but still japanese, sue me) that has no dub, and throughout the entire dvd there are sentences that dont make sense

@MagicFrog13 No, the dub didn't cut ANYTHING. That's only if you watched the version that aired on Syfy channel, which had to cut to meet FCC standards and fit into their schedule. If you watch the English dub from the retail DVDs, it is completely uncut.

A Little FYI for those complaining about Dub, the reason why subbing is better than dub, is because the fact that anime was made originally in Japan. Example, if you were to watch a cartoon such as, Spongebob, which originated in America and then watch it in Japan, you'd probably prefer the English Version than the Japanese. And if my explanation isn't convincing enough, then you guys should stick to your subbed Trailers than watching a dub trailer. Making it so, that no one has to be upset.

The sound didnt fit the setsuna, japanese voice by Mamoru Miyano who is 27 compare on the other hand the english voice by Brad Swaile is 34.

... My opinion disagrees... people who like subs like it because it sounds natural (emotion, tone, etc). Your saying a person would prefer the language he/she first watched. Personally, I've watch dubs before but whenever i watch the same show in subs it always seems better to me. This doesn't go for just japanese anime of course, but for all shows of all languages. So therefore, i argue that sequence isn't the main reason, but rather natural flow.

Each gundam series had in independant story line with the exception of series' the start out similar like gundam seed and gundam seed destiny. It does not matter which one you start with though I suggest gundam seed. Gundam wing seemed a little like a soap opera to me. Please note that not all gundam series' are dubbed.

Do you think a more mature gundam would work? Like having lots of bloody scenes, of gundam pilots throwing punches and trying to rip each other out of their cockpits and crush the pilots.
They should have storyline like war over religeon like the crusades. Then the protagonist realises there is no god, he goes berserk, breaking all his religions commandments and destroys everything in his path and becomes the god of the new world himself.

This is the LATEST Gundam series out. For the start, you need to go all the way back to Mobile Suit Gundam which was made in 1979. If continuity is your worry, then don't worry, because each Gundam story, e.g. Mobile Suit Gundam, Gundam Wing, Gundam SEED, Gundam 00, etc. are all set in separate universes and individual continuities. Gundam 00 is the start of it's own unique story. As for blood and swearing, both are just mild, but it's definitely not 'kiddy'. It's quite political too.

Yeah, Gundam Wing had a nice storyline, interesting characters and was really realistic because it didn't have anything "out of this world." Unlike other gundams like Gundam seed having Coordinators, Gundam/ Z / ZZ having Newtypes and Gundam 00 having GN particles etc.
