They had a few of them undergo this crazy lie detector test that checks your brain waves and what not (NOT just a polygraph) and one of them actually managed to trick it. All they had to do was think of an unpleasant situation before hand, keep that mood, and lie throughout.

Polygraphs are not reliable. You can't use them to prove a victim guilty in court, and you just can't depend on them for the truth. I know I would be totally freaked out, jittery and sweaty if I were hooked up to all that stuff.

Polygraph tests are almost completely ineffective. Courts don't even use them as evidence anymore because the test is too flawed. A naturally anxious person will always fail, and a calm person who never get's worked up about anything will always pass. Also, to some people just the thought of some of the questions can cause them to have a reaction, even if they aren't lying.
