Also, because Marth's sword is strongest at the tip, it means you can play a little bit mor defensively than you can with Roy. The overall strategy with Roy is basically get in their face using the dance and then use a smash attack. With Marth, you have the ability to do more damage and keep your distance.

I love how people say "we play a similar marth" when they see Ken. Ken invented pretty much all of marth's metagame, so basically everything you do with Marth Ken has been doing for years, there's maybe like 3 people in the world who can compare to Ken's Marth in terms of skill.

Most pros probably use Y most of the time. It's almost imperative to use either X or Y to short-hop, so that rules Up out. From there it's just personal preference, though Y is considered quicker than X for getting your thumb to the B button.

Remember, it depends, y is if you have versitile fingers, the y button is shape so it's hard to short hop withour pressing another button. x on the other hand, for me, is easier to short hop with, you can get to all the buttons after pressing either x or y, pretty easily, so it is really your choice of preference.

One thing that most people do when they choose Marth is that they try to be someone they aint. That's why most people aint that good with Marth. I'd say find up your own moves. It doesn't matte how it looks. Just be your self and have fun. Don't try to be Ken or Kizzu or anybody else. Very good match between.

4) the spike ken did to falco on the ledge can be done by tapping down, jumping up, and spike immediately after.

no, down just causes you to fastfall, making it harder to get back on the ledge. i always use down for the spike on the ledge, it isn't hard at all.(timing, however...)
