  • Awe-inspiring.

  • Pretty sure the arrangement is by Joseph Jennings, the director. You can find the sheet music in Chanticleer's Christmas Anthology.

  • yes, the bass is good, but listen to that tenor! holy cow! =)

  • awesome

  • love this song

  • I LOVE THE BASS ON THIS SONG!

  • Anyone know the arrangement for this?

  • Finally! A bass part to sing along with!

  • Eric Alatorre is the bass. I just listened to their CD of Palestrina's Missa Pro Defunctis, and his voice is absolutely breathtaking. I'm on a search to hear more of him, because I've just never heard a bass that good before.

  • @pickleprincess01 You should listen to Wade in the Water by Chanticleer. He solo's the whole time! :)

  • I saw them on The Today Show the other day, and they looked nothing like this photo. Either much of the personnel has changed, or this picture was taken a couple of decades ago.

  • @edwardjames50 The ensemble does change yearly, at least auditions are held every year. This picture is from around 6 years ago, although 5 of these members are still in the group, and another has become their music director. New or old, they're all amazing if you ask me!

  • god, everytime i listen to them, it gives me chills. they are so amazing. the low voices are just breath taking

  • I would love to hear these guys in an old cathedral in England

  • I have heard many versions of this beautiful chant, but never one clearer, finer, nor so heartfelt.

  • It just doesn't get any better than this.

  • Can't decide if I like the arrangement of these guys or voice male more. Don't get me wrong, I think Chanticleer is a better group, but Voice Male's arrangement comes close. Having said that, this is tied for first for my favorite version of this song. The musicality is truly breath-taking.

  • Not only a great blend and ambience, but they sound as if they practice for effect, not just performance, which requires a vision on the part of the arranger, not just the vocalists. This is great stuff. Celtic Woman had this effect, such as in "Wexford Carol."

  • i have been looking for this for weeks. absolutely amazing, by far my favorite rendition of an all time classic

  • Their bass singer is...otherwordly. Amazing.

  • @Knightridge I bet its the dude with the 'stache up there

  • @McKeeDee Eric Alatorre is the name of the 'monster' Bass, and yes, he's the one with the handlebar 'stache up above. He's been a long time member of the group. He was in it, when they came to Bowling Green State University in the late 1990's. They are such a joy to watch and listen to, live!!

  • @Knightridge I met him today at the concert! Super nice guy:-)

  • Simply breathtaking, gentlemen. I hope to participate in a men's ensemble with half this ability someday.

  • this is one of my favorite carols, and i love the chant feel they put on it, its awesome :D

  • the bass in the beginning sounds like a giant singing haha

  • I get to work with some of these guys for my choir class and see them at Bass Hall in Dallas :)

  • THIS is Christmas.

  • UPLOAD MORE PLIS!

  • Man, this stuff owns the Stephen Curtis version a trillion times over...
