Typically, the washer dryer combos tend to take a little while longer to dry than a standard dryer. I think the industry standard is something like 4 hrs for a complete cleaning process (wash and dry).
i got one of these today but mine is missing the back metal plate that goes over the motor. i havent had a chance to use it yet so i cannot say how it works but without that external plate on the back mine is a little louder. otherwise its a nice compact little unit perfect for space constraints and apts that do not have w/d hookups.
I've got one of these - it is a waste of the space it occupies! It has a small capacity and takes FOREVER to wash and dry - and the clothes come out slightly damp and wrinkled. I'm all about efficiency, but this thing uses so little water, it kind of mists the clothes, but never soaks them. The water level never even comes up to the bottom of the window. Great idea, but disappointing product.
I suspect you do not have it set up properly. The only thing I would agree with above is the fact that it does take a very long time to wash and dry. Between 3.5 and 5 hours. I had problems with mine too, but if you make sure you have the drainage pipe correct, it will completely dry a full load (half capacity of unit) in 1:30 hrs.
I just bought this combo and tried it for the first time,...I am on my 4th hour of just drying my towels and they are still damp, not even close to being done. I didnt overload the machine and selected more dry....frustrating...
You obviously do not have it hooked up correctly. If the drain hose is not positioned correctly or cannot openly drain, the dryer cannot work correctly. To test it, position the drain hose over a bucket during the drying cycle. It is important to keep the drain hose at the top of the bucket. If you let the drain hose fall into the water, the machine will not be able to evacuate water. If you have the dryer 1/2 full or less, it should not take more than 1.5-2 hours to dry.
I bought a LG dryer/washer combo spent about $1200 think was not worth it as it takes about 6 hours to finish a cycle whereas for that money could have bought washing machine and another dryer unit still wouldn't have cost me that much.
LG washing machine is ok works well but the combo just doesn't work . NOT WORTH THE PRICE YOU PAY
@joerem1 You are right, for the price you could easily buy a washer and a dryer. The purpose of this unit is to serve people with space constraints. Though, an added benefit is that you do not have to change over your clothes. So properly used, you will spend less time with this washer/dryer. I set mine to run in the morning and it is done when I get home.
I'm moving into a new place, and I wanted to know how did you hook this up underneath your sink? Is it hooked up to your sink somehow? And if so, how is it done? And did you have to remove teh bottomo of your cabinets for this? I want it the same way in my kitchen.
This was installed into my new Condo when I moved in, so I did not install it. You can download the installation instructions from the LG website and they detail how to install the drain pipe. You can place the drain into the sink, or you can plumb it into the existing drain further down to make it look better.
I think you would have to remove the bottom of the cabinets for it to fit.
This looks like it fits completely in a standart kitchen cabinet by removing the bottom. Does anyone know for sure if it does fit? Also is there a filter in the back that needs cleaning periodically that would be difficult to do once installed in a cabinet?
Some homes are like that now. Especially on the Northeastern Coast since the English influence is still there. Over here on the West Coast, homes will come that way if planned before construction.
This does not require a dryer vent. This uses condensation drying, so the air is recirculated and the water is condensed from the air and sent to the drain.
@preachinshawn Usually for the dryer it also requires the cold water to be set up and the drain. The reason is that it uses the cold water to remove the heat and moisture from the air in the dryer (same as a dehumidifier but using cold water instead of a coil of wire that is cold).
I read elsewhere that you mush use fabric softener or clothes will wrinkle. Assuming many people have asthma, allergies skin, or headache sensitivity to perfumes - this is not an option for us. Unless perhaps, one adds a clothes spinner to the utility area, then just uses the dryer for a few minutes to warm up clothes before giving a good shake and hanging awhile before folding.
Actually, to get wrinkles out of your clothes, don't let your clothes get too dry. When clothes are too dry and wrinkled, ironing is, as you say, "a btich". But, when the clothes are not too dry and wrinkled, it'll be easier to to iron.
You use high efficiency detergent, and since they are small loads I just use the lowest line on the detergent cup. I also use liquid fabric softner and color safe bleach. All of this is loaded into the detergent tray before you press start.
Hello, I have been looking into buying one of these but I am skeptical. How do you like it now that you have used it for a while, and also, about how much clothing can you put in per load with good results. Thank you!
It does a decent job and I am happy with it. The max you can wash then dry with good results would probably be 3 full size high quality bath towels. It is a small unit for sure, but could keep up with 2 people. You could not do laundry for a whole family with this unit.
I have not timed the drying cycle but I think it takes 3-4 hrs to dry completely. I always select the "more dry" option. Drying time doesn't really matter much to me since you can set it to delay wash and it wil wash then dry and be ready when you get home or wake up.
I fixed my unit and it now drys perfectly in 2 hrs. The problem was that the drain tube was submersed into the drain too far. You cannot submerge the drain hose or it will not drain properly.
@snyperkyzer I'm not sure how far it was previously submerged into the drain (it is installed under my countertop and its really cramped under there). There is a PVC pipe that leads to the drain, so I inserted the drying tube into the PVC pipe a couple of inches and secured it with zip ties so it does not fall farther into the pipe. I think they mention a distance in the manual, so that you never have flow problems from this exit hose.
@ctek4life Could you please elaborate. I have the same unit, had it for few years. Mine is installed in a closet and the drain pipe is in the wall at about the same height as the machine itself. I simply inserted the U shaped connector into the opening of the drainage pipe and secured since it was shaking a lot one the pump was forcing the water out of it. Mine also takes few hours to dry but I don't mind since I usually turn it on when I go to work. But I don't' mind improving it though.
@mleyfer From your comments, it sounds like yours is set up correctly. Mine takes 1.5 to 2 hrs to fully dry depending on load size. If you ever have problems drying or these dry times go to 2.5 or 3 hrs, you should check that drain pipe.
Yes, you can set it to wash, then dry. The only setting I can get wrinkle free clothes on is the cold/cold cycle. all warm/warm, hot/cold and warm/cold cycles result in wrinkled clothes.
is there an option to set it on wash and dry with the push of a couple buttons. in other words you throw a pair of nasty clothes in, set it, and come back to washed, dried, wrinkle free clothes? or is that exactly what it you were trying to demonstrate and i simply didn't comprehend?

Its 23-5/8" x 33-1/4" x 23-13/16" (WxHxD), so it should be able to fit under any kitchen countertop.
The filter is at the front, so there is no need to get behind the machine periodically.

Do you think i could wash all my quuen size sheets and pillow cases in one load?

sheets and pillow cases yes, but nothing else. we do it all the time. use common sense and don't try to force as many clothes in as you can.

@preachinshawn There are hot and cold water inlets as well as a drain pipe that will need to be positioned over a drain.
