If they had to make a movie about one of the books, it should be Contact Harvest, First Strike or Ghost of Onyx. I really liked Fall of Reach, but if they had to make a movie of it, then they have to show Johns face.
Most that read this might not know what I'm talking about but if you've read First Strike (SPOLIER) I find it amazing how when they capture the Covenant ship, they beat so many other Covenant ships in an almost completely destroyed ship.
It makes for some decent tension yeah, but I'd attribute it to the fact that they have the element of suprise, a superior AI piloting the thing, and the fact that the Covenant Assault Carrier (I believe thats what it is) is way way way bigger than most covenant corvettes and destroyers.
@MystDragon3k And not to forget that Cortana pimped their weapons. Which was a bit poorly explained, why the Covenant never thought of focusing their weapons to a beam imho. But apart from that i enjoyed the book
@Keyes66 I think the reason the Covenant never improved their weapons was that they either couldn't figure out how, or thought it was blasphemy to alter forerunner technology any further than they had. Part of the main flaw of the covenant is that they imitate technology, not innovate and improve like humans do.
I also made it 2 years ago, but hey, using actual Halo music, featuring other fan made animations that are well made (if the other pages of comments are anything to go by) and editing it to fit the timing of the song itself...I thought I did well, but if that's not enough for you, im sorry.
Reach was attacked in July 24 and the fighting keep until August 30 when the last free shipyard still under UNSC where the Pillar of Autumn was fell under Covenant control. minor skirmishes continue until September 7 , 2552.
I honestly think it would be epic if Microsoft (as they now have the rights to the Halo franchise) would make a game showing all of the space based battles, as if you read the halo books, there are many, and all of them were intense.
I keep saying, Halo Wars 2, only with focus on space combat instead of ground combat (see: Star Wars: Empire at war/ Sins of a Solar Empire) would be amazing...the only problem is, covenant ships are way, way way better than human ships, so in order to make it balanced, you'd have to sacrifice continuity (though if I can pump out 8 battle curisers in Starcraft 2, I guess its okay to pump out 20 Halcyon Cruisers in another Halo RTS)

Oh I see...youre talking about the new novel in the works by the illustrious Karen Traviss, that is said to be a continuation of that story that left off in Ghosts of Onyx.
I know that, and I know how all the other games had nothing to do with Reach either, but I included footage from them because this isnt a tribute to that game, especialy when this game was made a year before when Reach came out.
There are probably going to be more Halo games, Microsoft wont let 343 just do community stuff forever, but one showcasing Master Chief might not exactly be called Halo 4...but I can see another game with him happening.
But don't think longer development time equates to better games...there are lots of games that took forever and were only decent at best. Look at Gran Turismo 5, look at Prey, heck, I would put money down that Duke Nukem will only be an "okay" shooter.
Secondly, Bungie isn't the only game developer in the world capable of making good products. Why dont you wait until the next Halo game comes out before you assume anything?

Underground on reach was mc and his team, including Halsey. They were the ones who made that crater as you fly away from halsey's lab. While there, cortana found some forerunner glyphs and translated them. The "not so random jump" was not random at all. Cortana figured it out. THATS WHY reach is the start
If the events that had taken place on Reach never happened, the UNSC would never had found Halo, therefore, the main trilogy would never have taken place if it hadn't been for Reach.

Halo Wars has its own "story arc" but not a different "story line". It takes place 10 some odd years before the events of the Halo trilogy and Reach. If you unlock the time line feature in Halo Wars, you'll find they very faithfully chronicle the entire Human-Covenant War to the day and date.

None of my sources tell me Halo 4 is actually what 343 is working on...now, I'm certain it is a Halo game, but we dont know if its a continuation of Master Chief's story, or a new direction like Reach.
In short, you're hearing rumors and speculation, not official announcements. If you can give me a link showing where you got your information, then I might believe you.

There are probably going to be more Halo games, Microsoft wont let 343 just do community stuff forever, but one showcasing Master Chief might not exactly be called Halo 4...but I can see another game with him happening.
But don't think longer development time equates to better games...there are lots of games that took forever and were only decent at best. Look at Gran Turismo 5, look at Prey, heck, I would put money down that Duke Nukem will only be an "okay" shooter.

Wait...what? Are you telling me that Frank O' Conner, the lead writer for many of Bungie's Halo games, now lead story writer of 343 industries, would intentionally make the Halo lore into a confusing Japanese style romp...why? What makes you think that?
Also, Bayonetta's story wasn't bad...it was just...hella confusing...but GLORIOUS in its ridiculousness...I mean...that game doesn't take itself seriously, so don't take it seriously either.

The video was made shortly before Halo 3: ODST came out, so that trailer was the only thing available.
To be fair, you could say that "Remember Reach" could have meant that while everyone was hyped about this overpriced expansion pack (loved it but $60 really?) that the next true game was on its way.

Underground on reach was mc and his team, including Halsey. They were the ones who made that crater as you fly away from halsey's lab. While there, cortana found some forerunner glyphs and translated them. The "not so random jump" was not random at all. Cortana figured it out. THATS WHY reach is the start

If the events that had taken place on Reach never happened, the UNSC would never had found Halo, therefore, the main trilogy would never have taken place if it hadn't been for Reach.

Halo Wars has its own "story arc" but not a different "story line". It takes place 10 some odd years before the events of the Halo trilogy and Reach. If you unlock the time line feature in Halo Wars, you'll find they very faithfully chronicle the entire Human-Covenant War to the day and date.
