  • Teh old VF's are the best. They actually look elegant anf functional - like something the miltiary would use. The veritechs from other Robotech/Macross seriews don't even look usable. Especially the Macross 7.

  • There should be a 3 way battle.

Firefox vs VF-0 Phoenix vs FFR-41 Mave

  • @triplepogi2009 U have my vote

  • @arafat88ryu

Want to make it a 4-way battle? Simple, Firefox vs VF-0 Phoenix vs FFR-41 Mave vs ADF-01 Falken.

Firefox vs Macross vs Yukikaze vs Ace Combat

...and guess what, a 5 way battle is also possible. Add in the XF-002 Phosporus from Air Force Delta Strike on the fight. The sky is about to burn...

  • @triplepogi2009 The Falken! Hoho... The skies gotna burn alright. Specially when F/A-37 Talon, UCAV EDI (Stealth) and Night Raven (G.I JOE) join in. Haha... Hurricanes & thunderstorm gonna formed at the very spot the legends starts to fight.

  • @arafat88ryu

    Aw HECK YEAH

....I always liked aerial dogfights, and that would be one HELL of a dogfight.

  • @triplepogi2009

a Mave and Falken would barely be able to keep up with these two. even then these things are toys compared to late-model variable fighters like the YF-29.

  • @Yukikazehalo

Do you think I care about the stats here? I just thought up of the battle (along with the other guy) because.

    It's epic. That's all.

  • i like how you all are freaking out over the VF-0, when it is pretty much the shittiest variable fighter. the YV-29 Durandal would make your eyes bleed.

  • @Yukikazehalo Actually, I like the design of the VF-19 Excalibur. Forward-swept wings cause the air currents to gather towards the center of the craft, providing more lift with less thrust and allowing for a quick stall recovery, which would be an essential quality for a VF to have when it is switching from Battroid mode to Fighter mode with a bandit closing in on its six.

  • @Yukikazehalo

All things considered, its actually overspec and has much sharper acceleration and a better balance of control surfaces than the VF-1. Unfortunately it required an insane amount of maintanance for every flight hour and its fuel reserves were very small so it wasn't cost effective to have more than four to an aircraft carrier when really UN Spacey wanted twelve to fifteen per carrier.

  • they both suck. snoopy in his sopwith pup would kick their asses with ease. that is the skill of the beagle.

  • ENDING GUNDAM00(^o^

  • ENDING GUNDAM00(^o^

  • Huh, no aft firing rocket from the Firefox?

  • From what i read the veritable fighter could be made but the joints would have to be made to with stand the shear deceleration g, a inertial dampener would have to be invented to avoid the pilot from having internal bleeding, this could be fixed(more likely circunveted) by lets say having the pilot slowdown to a speed that avoid loss of consciousness but be able to maintain flight and momentum to avoid being shot down

  • ебанутые янки...у наших летчиков нет красных звезд на шлемофонах, это вам долбоебам они везде мерещаться))) меньше гамбургеров жрать надо

  • isnt that song at the end one of the openings for gundam 00. nice vid that VF kicked some ass

  • Music: The unsung war

From: Ace combat 5 the unsung war

  • @117Jorn yes i know ;)

  • razgriz!!! this song is from ace combat 5

  • Fucking US Shit! Mig 31 Best Migs 29 Su34 - 33 M24 Mi26..... The best Fight Aircraft the World!

  • But come on, the VF- 0S uses technology that is already being used by modern fighters, like thrust vectoring, and also technology still in development, like the laser turrets. What I mean is, with the speed technology is advancing and the idea of a variable fighter that has all these years as an effective weapons platform I don't think we're that far from seeing a real one, especially if another world war were to break out, but that's just what I think.

  • The Macross VF-0 is always a beauty! As a student of aerospace engineering, how I would like that it was real... but for now no chance.

A transformable aircraft like that requires extremely powerful computers, very complex flyng controls, totally new materials and engines. And I think the cost of a such aircraft can easly outrun everything made...

  • Well, I think that if we had a network of computers with each computer controlling a limb being directed by a central computer that receives input from the cockpit controls it would reduce the amount of computing power needed. Also, carbon nanotubes are 200 times stronger than steel cable but are electroactive polymers so they can be used as artificial muscle to move the limbs. The engines and electronics will be housed in an endoskeleton structure that is manipulated by said muscles.

  • @NexAngelus405 thats real variable geometry hahahahaa

  • @NexAngelus405 Well the cost would still be extremely expensive and no government would bother starting such an expensive project due to all the things going on around the world XD

Besides that it'd be damn hard to fly and you'd need astronaut training and a system to keep the pilot from fainting etc. due to all the crazy shit the airplane does including the transformation sequences :P.

  • @NexAngelus405

The 'overtechnology' stated says that the system uses a particle based system to strengthen the structure -- something to do with gluons -- of the fighter while its operational, which is why they can take such an intense beating.

The same system is also responsible for all the motion, meaning no real motors are used and its all driven using this same technology so almost the entire body is completely hollow making it very light.

  • @NexAngelus405

    1. I don't see the point in anything that transforms. I mean, legged machines? When would we need walkers when we could just send treaded/wheeled vehicles that don't fall over, break as easily, and are not expensive?

    2. Any Air Force is in the money funnel. As planes get more sophisticated, the more it costs. Soon, at least America's Air Force, we'll only be able to afford one of a type of plane. It'd be an engineering marvel, but when would it be needed in practical use?

  • but someday my friend, somebody will build one. just because someday we will be able to do it

  • @popezmark Unlike everything else Macross, Macross Zero mechas combine realistic fighter concepts with Shoji Kawamori's mecha designs, the result is a series of real robots that feel realistic to a point where it can be considered as a standard issue fighter jet, but the Macross Zero variable fighters are something special, it dumps all the sci-fi nature of the VF and replace it with boring and ordinary fighter designs and mixed it all up with Kawamori-san's mecha designs and it looks beautiful.

  • @popezmark Yeah, they explained most of those difficulties away with "Over Technology" in Macross. If only we could actually put thermonuclear engines in our jet fighters, lol!

  • CMON MAN! GIVE ME SOMETHING MORE REALISTIC! howz about the ''FOX'' vs. the U.C.A.V (E.D.I) EXTREME DEEP INVADER. Now that's a fair fight. If i wanted a fair fight against a plane that turns into a robot then u could choose STARSCREEM vs. the PHEONIX! guess who wins HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!! TELL ME I'M WRONG ANYBODY!

  • Look up F-14 vs SV-51. The F-14 owns some Mig-29s but gets owned when it goes up against a variable fighter designed by Sukhoi called the SV-51. Also, I have come up with some feasible design concepts for a variable fighter. There is a material that makes it all possible. Carbon Nanotubes. They can be used as artificial muscles strong and fast enough to move the limbs of the fighter in Battroid and GERWALK, they can be used as superconductors to make high-powered servomotors for transformation,

  • they can be used to make a light but strong substance called buckypaper that is 500 times stronger than steel and can be used as the airframe. Also a plane made of buckypaper is practically invisible to radar. Also, most fighters have their guns fixed forward, but a variable fighter can move it's gun to follow a target in GERWALK and Battroid mode. By aiming the legs forward the fighter can direct the thrust forward for rapid deceleration and aim it down to make a diagonal accent.

  • A variable fighter can also shoot down incoming missiles by transforming into Battroid mode, spinning around and firing on them as they close in.

  • @NexAngelus405

The most problem would be semi-automatic system that would allow the thing to move around in battroid mode and hover steadily in gerwalk mode. + Engines, gerwalk mode with modern engines would drain fuel like mad.

  • @NexAngelus405 That was a fantastic video, but not real. Wish we or someone did have something like that. If you know how to build something like that, you need to be working for a big aerospace sorporation making some BIG bucks!

  • holy crap, clint's flying a veritech! lol does it carry a magnum 44? that's right Magnum 44 incher... not .44 lol

  • no a mig 31 roy in the vt 0

  • si-fci

  • that plan eis in AIX 2.0, bf2 mod

  • But in a dogfight keep in mind that a VF-0S will transform a lot from fighter, gerwalk and then battleroid modes. NexAngelus405 you mean in Macross DYRL Roy Focker was drunk as he took out a Zentradi squad as he tryed to help Hikaru and Minmay?

  • Yes.

  • YAY!!! THE UNSUNG WAR!!!

  • Still underestimate Gant's flying ability & you compare it to a cartoon of all things. That's just plain stupid.

  • Actually, the VF-0 itself is CG like a lot of the aircraft you see in movies these days, such as Stealth. Also, Focker is an ace pilot. I think he once took out an entire enemy squadron while intoxicated.

  • This is pathetic. The person obviously either greatly underestimated Gant's flying skill, or never like or saw this movie. I'm going for the "All of the Above." answer .

  • Actually, I saw the movie on AMC, though I didn't see the whole thing. I just missed the part before Gant arrives in the USSR, but I saw the rest. I actually made this vid because of TheWraith's Airwolf vs Firefox vid. The comments posted on that vid kept arguing that Firefox is better than Airwolf or Airwolf is better than Firefox. But I think that the VF-0 is better than both of them. I was gonna make a VF-0 vs Airwolf vid as a companion to this one, but I couldn't find enough usable clips.

  • Sorry to be so insulting, but I really can't agree with such a bogus comparison.

  • So, the VF-0S defeats the Firefox? How sad, and I like that movie...

  • Has anyone here scene that Yukikaze AMV were its Yukikaze is supposed to be PAKFA and space aliens=USaf super stealth cloaked Aurora.

  • the aurora is the tr 3b

  • sorry, can i know the name of this film?

  • If you mean the film with Clint Eastwood, it's Firefox. If you mean the anime, it's Macross Zero.

  • lol also the Ace Combat 5 The Unsung War soundtrack is being used in this vid. But nothing can match the VF-0S though yes the Mig-31 can launch the oh s#%& I forgot. What was the name of the missile where Gant fired the missile from the back of the aircraft? But yeah Mig-31 is not really a match for the VF-0S

  • Mig-31 is like a hit and run aircraft while the VF-0S is like a clash and brawl aircraft

  • yeah Firefox can usually have the higher advantage though VF-0 has pretty much the upper hand in a dogfight. Mig-31 Firefox is like a F-14. Long range interceptor. lol you made the vid look like it's actually dogfighting each other.

  • in the end, it all comes down to the pilot and its abilities to utilize the aircraft to its extreme potential

  • But this is just a video..so anything goes

  • Mig Mozzila! LOL!

  • Firefox was not made for dogfighting but "sudden strike". The plane was designed to hit and run so fast to be caught.

The VF-0 is a tough dogfighter but it's not faster than the VF-1 and which can't top mach 3 in an air. Firefox was made for Mach 5. Between jets, speed is the real weapon.

There is also the issue of the Rear launching missile. The VF-0 would be staring at it while FireFox goes wide for another pass and repeats until someone is dead or out of gas and/or ammo.

  • I agree..Firefox was made as an extreme speed interceptor, but with a highly extreme skilled pilot, it can dogfight too

  • LM F-22 "Raptor" FTW!!... yet I still have a soft spot for the late YF-23, which still functions in some manner as far as core parts and technology are concerned. I recall being taken to see FireFox in theatres when I was a kid, and was totally locked onto Clint Eastwood flying the 'FireFox' Mig aircraft during the action sequences of the film. FireFox on BluRay Disc would be awesome right about now!! Anyway, awesome video, and I'd like to see some Su-37 FSW 'Berkut' action, imaginatively!

  • If you look at the fact, very complex airframes that have variable geometry like the F14 tend to need an attrocious amount of maintainance to work correctly, not to mention they tend to function less effectively than more dedicated single role fighters. It's unlikely these flying ninjas will do much against air superiority fighters which have better radars, better engines and long range missiles.

  • Your argument doesn't hold much water, as the VF-0 can simply target and shoot down incoming missiles with the gunpod in Battroid mode by transforming in mid-flight at high speed before the missiles have a chance to catch up.

  • On has to realise, an actual missile at full flight speed is travelling at more than 5 times the speed of sound. it'd be like hitting a bullet with another bullet. tracking and targeting multiple inbound missiles which can bridge the distance between the maximum range of the gun and the fighter itself in just over a second. While moving at the same time! is practically impossible for any single weapon system.

  • sigh, if only missiles were destructible objects in YSFlight, I could put your statement to the test.

  • Actually, I thought of something else. The VF can simply use its thrust vectoring capability to out-turn a missile, since the missiles only steer using the fins near the exhaust, making them less maneuverable.

  • actually. the idea for thrust vectoring originally came from rocket engine technology, which is found on every contemprary missile. while it's possible to evade missiles with countermeasures and stealth, both require an airframe with very good thrust/weight ratio. In the end, these shapeshifting airframes will be on the prey list of specialised air superiority fighters which are purpose built for destroying air targets.

  • All MiG's are armed with AA-11 missiles that use TVC. There is no known way of dodging a AA-11 missile.

It has never happened in history. That robot would've died cause the Firefox can fire missiles backwards

  • By aiming the legs forwards to move at a relative speed to the missiles, it can evade them long enough to sight in on them with the gunpods and the head-mounted lasers using the eye-tracking target acquisition system and shoot them down.

  • relative speed to the missle?.. a missile @ Mach 5+ and VF-0 @ Mach 2-3+..not a chance to evade. Too much of a speed difference

  • AA-11's can be outrun if Gant push the Mig to overxtreme speeds

  • yea. but Gant is the one who is firing the AA-11.

How can the VF-0 even have a chance

  • You guys are forgetting the thought control weapon firing system of the Mig-31 which gives Gant a 2-3 sec advantage in reaction time b4 the VF-0 even noticed a missle was fired

  • urss dasvania!

  • yes cool mig 31 firefox nuclear target stealth urss!

  • A good effort

  • Really, lets think about reality here. We all know any realistic aircraft can pawn these airplanes. Why? Because realistic planes have real bombs. Plus, why do we fantasize something that is too unreal to even make sense?

  • I think with the some research and development, there will be thought controlled computer systems. In fact, a lab in Japan is working on a non-invasive brain-computer interface with some degree of success! And variable fighters like the VF-0 might be possible one day with some research and development on electro-active polymers, a synthetic material that contracts when an electrical charge is applied to it, so it functions like a real human muscle!

  • We make these shows because they're entertaining? That's like saying "Why does someone watch TV?" Entertainment. And you'de be surprised at what we're capable of building, with the right research.

  • Wow, undertake782. You don't sound like you care much for the power of imagination.

Keep in mind that the real world aircraft whose superiority you tout over these fictitious vehicles were once but a designer's fantasy themselves. If current technological capability were advanced enough to build something like a Variable Fighter, no modern-day aircraft could match it in combat.

  • Because something that destructive is useless as it creates too much colateral damage = more deaths.

  • Your argument is not necessarily true. If anything, a Variable Fighter, despite it's increased destructive potential, would be better for surgical strikes with minimized collateral damage, on account of the versatility of the 3-mode transformation.

A jet that can also function as infantry and CAS has less potential for unintended damage than a typical aircraft raining death from above, with the decreased accuracy resulting from the release of weaponry from a distant, rapidly moving platform.

  • This sound is distractingly poorly mixed. The Macross Zero stuff is so much louder than the Foxfire stuff.

  • I had to turn down the volume on the Firefox footage so that I could put in the Dirty Harry quotes (I could only find the Spanish version of Firefox, and his Spanish dub actor doesn't sound anything like him).

  • is this the movie where the plane divides the sea because of its incredible speed?

  • I don't remember for sure, but I do remember that it destroyed a helicopter with a sonic boom.

  • YES!

  • VF-0 would win it has 3 modes to fight in and the SV-51 would destroy both of them

  • Great

  • awesome xP

  • hello, are ya there?

  • Silentkill666, lol u. Look blueprints of firefox and foxhound. There are many differences, but still some similiar things: Wings, Ruddlers, exhaust nozzles... Find other things u self.

  • That looks nothing like a MiG-31. Did they call it that in the movie?

  • Yes, but the book that the movie was based on was written before the real Mig-31 Foxhound was developed. Since the Mig-31 wasn't developed yet, the author Craig Thomas, decided to designate the fighter jet in his book the Mig-31.

  • Oh, I should mention a few things about the VF-0 so there is no confusion. The VF-0 was a prototype of the VF-1 Valkyrie seen in the original Macross. The only difference is that the while the VF-1s had Nuclear Pulse Engines, the VF-0 used conventional turbofan engines, which take up more space, making the legs on the VF-0 longer than the VF-1, because the Nuclear Reactors for the VF series were still under development.

  • But the U.N. needed a fighter that could compete with the Anti-U.N.'s SV-51, so they made the VF-0. The VF-0 flown by Focker is the VF-0S, a model used exclusively by squadron leaders.

  • Whats' the name of that video?

  • If you mean the live-action footage, it's from a film called Firefox.

  • There is just something really cool about futuristic planes, still can't figure out why...

  • There are two notable things about the Mig-31 Firefox. One is that it can reach a speed of Mach 6. Two, is that it has a thought-guided and thought-controlled weapons system. The catch in the movie though was that in order to use this system, Mitchell Gant played by Clint Eastwood had to think in Russian.

  • the same good cuting :)

    like it alot

  • Great video terrible ending.
