  • In my experience, Flat Top Paramotors are the best.

The ELECTRIC START is a sweet perk with the Flat Top...

  • Black Paramotors are junk!! There is no after sales support at all.

  • The Flat Top paramotor in the video is the way to go. The best pilots in the country all fly it including Team Redbull. It costs a bit more up front but the cost of ownership is lower in the long run because of the quality and durability.

  • Please explain why exactly it sucks? I'm looking at getting one..

  • Safety: The netting will flex right into the prop, people have been seriously injured this way. Some fall on launch, others when flaring on landing and others have done it in flight. Because of the flimsy cage it will also self destruct when you fall down. The cage will flex back into the prop and the whole unit blows up. Just watch their own promotion videos and you can see tons of people destroying their units because of the poor design.

  • Safety: There is very minimal crumple zone below the pilot. Recently a guy stalled and hit the ground on a black hawk and because there was no crumple zone to absorb the impact he died. Others have broken their backs. The same crashes and worse have happened on Flat Tops but the pilots walk away uninjured. The black hawk is a very poor outdated design. It is a fake copy of a 15 year old unit called the Skycruiser.

  • Poor Quality: The engine, prop, wiring, materials, harness and construction are very cheap. The throttle is just a bicycle brake lever. The frames are super heavy steel but since they dont heat treat them after welding they break around the welds. The netting is nylon and has been know to get into the prop, get wrapped up and rip the engine clean off the frame.

  • Lousy Performance: The cheap Mexican wood props are terrible for thrust. The black hawk is one of the heaviest units with the steel frame but puts out minimal power. They also dont optimize the props & reductions. They just slap anything old thing on there and motors run at wild RPMs. Even with less power they are far noisier than quality units.

  • Poor Mentality: Those that push black hawks dont care about quality and just try to move to the next sale as quickly as they can. People get almost no real training because none of the experienced pilots fly them or sell them. Watch other youtube videos and you just dont see any of the skilled pilots flying them. All the top pilots in the country fly Flat Tops so help for black hawk owners is minimal.

  • Crooked: Bob Armond is a liar and a crook. The USPPA is totally bogus and promotes incompetent people as Approved Instructors. Stay away from the USPPA like your life depends on it because it does. The real organization is the USHPA. Bob and his USPPA has had so many injuries & lawsuits he has to disable the ratings and comments on all his videos or people would cream him.

  • End Result: black hawk owners quit the sport and rarely progress. From problems with poor quality to units self destructing when you fall and very poor training causing extreme fear and bad experiences it just isnt fun. Watch lots of youtube videos. Notice the awesome pilots and top videos are all of Flat Tops. The sport is great if you get the right equipment and training. Dont get paratoyed!!

  • @imasuper0308 i'm a 16 year old and 126 pounds. I'm curious what a good paramotor would cost and what it would be? Im kind of tight on money. plz reply and i dont want a really heavy one.
