  • you are on the right way, kid

  • Oh boy, you guys are harsh. He's 8 for god's sake! He's awesome for his age. So stop acting so high and mighty pointing out all the flaws or ranting about "feelings" and "emotions". I agree it's an important part of music but keep that crap for the professionals will you?

  • Contrary to all the criticism, I enjoyed this very much!

  • Nice playing overall except several misses:

Bar 12: the long C (qtr note) sounded like short 8th.

Bar 21(R): last 2 sets of 16th notes C-Bb-D-Bb-E-Bb-C-Bb you played C#-Bb-D-Bb-Eb-Bb-C-Bb (C# supposed to be C and Eb supposed to be E).

    Bar 25(R): E-C-A-C-F-Eb you played E-C-A-D-F-Eb (4th note D instead of C)

    Nice light touch otherwise...

  • @thepianoplayer416 woahh you have a good ear.. O.O

  • Whoa.....That was AMAZING!!!!

Then he looks up to the camera like it was nothing!

  • cut your nails...good job anyway

  • ok i dont like some of the comments people are posting. i mean this kid is amazing! i learned that song and he sounds so much better than i ever wll (btw im twice his age!)

  • Notice this was posted on April 21,2007 and the Christmas tree is still up. Anyway good job kiddo.

  • Why did you force this child to play this piece making so many mistakes????????

  • omg

  • so do they just leave the Christmas tree up all year?

  • nice job

    your so talented

  • holy crap. thats all i am gonna say.

  • Wow props to you! I'm almost 14 and I still have to put my finishing touches on it

  • Cool

  • Good job, but you might try it a little slower. Playing the piano is not all about playing as fast as you possibly can.

  • @pianosrawesome He is playing to tempo.

  • A little tooooo fast. But good job. I bet if you had relaxed a little more you wouldn't have messed up in the middle. A little more emotion would have been good too. :)

  • Gosh, a kid beat me. I'm 13 and I'm still learning it.

  • @QUAGS1RE omg me 2!!!!

  • this kid got talent

  • you are more than talented!

  • Yeah, great!

  • lvl 7 song D:

  • very good

  • What talent! And hes adorable :3

  • Holy Crap I'm 14 and I can only play it a bit faster... Good work little man...

  • There's nothing like teenagers telling an 8 year old how much he need's to improve.

    Anyway, great job!

  • what? i said i saw you comment on another video of someone playing the piano

  • lol i just saw you comment on this other video

  • incredible performance bro!

  • you should definately slow down a lil bit. it would sound so much better. keep up the good work

  • I think the speed is spot on. but what do i know?

  • kid. the left hand is detached.

  • I guess it was 6.5 out of 10....... But he does not have the technique......He needs to practice more on his scales.......Oh and one more thing DO NOT roll the last chord. It does not sound right and it takes the awesome away from it.

  • Arpeggiated chords were a common embellishment in Baroque keyboard.

  • well done although there are mistakes

  • Hey, no offense to the kiddo, but it doesn't matter on how much a child can be a genius, he doesn't have the maturity in emotion to play it well. When you're a kid, the only thing that you'll concentrate to play is evolving in terms of technique. All of your interpretation will sound hollow and artificial, only after acquiring experience and growing up (as well as growing up on the piano field) you will be able to play it with feelings. Errr...true fact, proved in the medical science and all...

  • @Shizukahime14 Who cares. He's not a concert pianist.

  • @Shizukahime14 exactly, how do you define playing with "feeling"

  • @Shizukahime14 Bullshit. Always dipshits like you hating on vids cuz it's a kid/girl. "Emotion" in music is a bullshit term. It's relative to your own ears. I was checking out your videos of you playing, and putting emotion in... oh wait. You don't have any fucking uploads.

  • @Shizukahime14 jealous

  • jesus how many hours a day does this kid sit behind the piano

  • i love the look he gives to the camera at the end of the piece, priceless.

  • Bravo Lawrence!

  • WOW! Piano Prodigy!

  • Not too bad for an eight year old but you really shouldn't roll the last cord, it takes away from its impact.

  • Woah. Im learning that song and i cant play it that fast

  • to bad . ur hand is worst .

  • i my god!!!!

there are a lot of mistakes!!!!!!

  • there's like 1 mistake at the end of the first section and a couple at the end. that's not that many.

  • tis piece is very easy you need only one or two days to lern it but to speed it up you need 1 or 2 more

  • holy cow thats wow i just started playing that damn u inspire me ur 8 and u can play that freakin awsome

  • i could play it when i was 7

  • how many hours a day does he practice

  • mannn, better than I can play it =P

    I'm jealous :)

  • wow you're great!!

  • he plays it WAAAAY to fast :)

  • presto e leggero possible

As rapidly and lightly as possible

  • wow...I'm speechless/.....

I have been practicing for like 2 years on that piece and it's still a bit choppy...

  • Lawrence, on a good day, with the wind and the moon in the right quarter, I can actually play this piece just slightly better than you can. Then again, I've been practising for 58 years. In other words - you're doing great! Stick with it, kid! And thanks for posting.

  • o...my...word...! i have been trying ot get this song right for months! and he's eight! and has it memorized no less! you are amazing! i've been taking lessions for 8 years! and i'm 6 years older than you!

  • sometimes is slower better than faster, in this case sure

  • slow down.....please...

  • great job

    work on tempo control

  • That's a really diffucult song. I give you a lot of props on it. I'm 3 years older than you, and I have still been struggling. You messed up a few times, but it was barely noticeable because you didn't sob over it. You picked yourself up and kept going instead of going back to fix your mistake. Btw, nice fingering and control of the keys. Good job.

    Peash Out.

  • i would like to se him playing an c1 and a c6

i bet i can play that beter

  • hahahah

  • all i gots to say is

    SNAP SON!!!

  • nice performance! this is a very difficult song. I'm 5 years older that him and still find this difficult

  • Ahh you make it sound so good =D

  • Very nice. I love the way his fingers dance on the keys. Truely fantastic playing.

  • this is a very difficult song to keep in control

  • you said it

  • holy poop

    verry nice

  • wow lol, i play this super slow. awesome job

  • Great! Very good job!

  • love this song

  • Nice. I´m playing same music peace to!

    /ZEG

  • Very good forearm/upper-arm movement!!

  • i just hope he isnt being forced by his parents to do this and that he actually enjoys it

  • 5/5 stars!! GREAT!!!

  • OH DANG!!!

    Thats awesome.

I just hope he's that good at doing his own music too so he can make it big or something.

    That'd be really cool.

  • I like it

  • He did around 10 mistakes, but not bad at all.

  • Amazing. Great job and keep up the good work.

  • 8 years old playing the same level as me

  • Yeah, same here. It's scary, but impressive. Also, this seemed a bit shorter than the two pages it is... maybe I just play it slow.

  • oh my god. amazing.

  • I'm just learning this now and I'm 15...

Amazing. Thats pretty fast for 8.

  • Amazing

    *****

  • perfect ;_;

    he's a genious!

  • Damn, so young so fast!

  • holy toledos.......

    i am absolutely speechless

    i do not believe u r 8 years old..

hmmm u look familiar do u go to my school??

haha just kidding.... well good job

  • how long does it take to learn this invention?(days, weeks..)

  • months... at least for me...

  • have you been taking piano for long?

  • yea bout 5 years xD but i only have time to practice like once a week for bout 30 min :/ maybe thats why...

  • *sarcasm* yea. maybe a little... XD

I've been playing for about 4 and 1/2 years. ^_^

  • wow... in order to progress, you need much more practice

  • lol :P i already finished this song :P it was only this one that took me forever to pass. the others i can pass within 2 weeks with just that amount of practice

  • wow, you must be talented.

  • i can play this better...of course, im 16...

great job, kid. i love these inventions cuz they teach you to be just as strong your left hand, which this kid is. keep it up

  • Crazy japanese ppl! Very nice playing..oh and the ending surprised me :) Keep playing!

  • he phrases it so well!

  • O.O im struck speechless. Thats just frickin amazing.

  • aw, i played this!

  • holy cow. i've been working on this for 2 weeks and i can't even get the 2nd page.

  • notice at 13 seconds he yawns. this amazing piece is boring him because he's too talented. lol. You are amazing, kid, keep it up. I love all your videos. Keep playing, you will be great someday.

  • HOLY FUCK!

  • Amazing talent. The precise tempo of the piece is not really the point!!

  • My copy of this song says Vivace too. You can hate all you want to. This kid is amazing on this song. It took me two months just to get past the first four lines! Keep doing what you doing kid!

  • i disagree with all of you...mine says it's vivace..but he is still amazing

  • This is presto ladies and gentlemen for those of you that are saying this was too Fast!! Presto means fast as possible!

Don't stop playing kid, you have an amazing talent.

  • I disagree, it's allegro!

  • Actually, Prestissimo means as fast as can possibly manage.

It is neither Allegro or Presto - so, you're both wrong. Bach left no tempo or dynamic markings in the original Bach-Gesellschaft editions of the Inventions and Sinfonias. Tempo is dictated by stylistic conventions within the Baroque era.

And yes, this boy is very talented. Nice to see that kids still play Bach

  • well, I didn't feel like typing the whole entire word.

  • and plus, my sheet music doesn't say Prestissmo! It says "Presto e leggero possible" (as rapidly and lightly as possible.

  • ie78520 - the balance of the sound of the melody??? WTF?? This kid is a freakin' genious!!! It was brilliant just the way he played it.

  • Don't ever stop little pal. You Rock!

  • I think the balance of the sound of the melody on each hand is not well balanced.

  • Stellar for his age. Aside from the mistakes in the left hand around 0:40, this is nearly flawless.

  • So I'm 17 and having trouble with this song.

Maybe I'll go back about 9 years and try again.

    :D

  • Very beautiful^^!!!! You did an excellent job!!!

  • What a beautiful thing you do!

  • Awesome ! =O

  • dude, he is not a young man, he is just a kid, a very very talented kid.

  • slow down, but good job young man

  • Oh blah. You are excellent.

  • A genuis!!!

    Keep it up!!!

  • Keep it up!!!!

    I love it!!

    You're a genius!!

  • LOL my cousin is playing this song and he plays so terribly. You play waay better!~ WOOT!

  • Superb!

  • WOOT !

  • Superb !

  • i know that your only 8, but kid give it some dynamics and intrepetation to the song. if you just do that it will sound much better,

  • when this dude grows up he'll be awesome! just needs the musical maturity that comes with age!

  • well payed !!!!! excellent for his age!!!!

    Congratulations......

    enzo / blueyoyi
