Before I got my Drift, the bloggie certainly was my favorite of all the other cameras. You got a good angle on it right away. Good to see a vid from you :)
Nice vid! It looks really good despite the tinted visor and low light. You cant beat the bloggie for quality, price, and the swivel head.. It could be the best motovlogging cam for in helmet. I still have mine, although I prefer the vado for 'off bike' filming.. the Drift takes it to another level.. personally I dont mind the helmet side shot.. but that's just me. I was going to sell the bloggie, but more than likely I'll keep it and use it sometimes.
weve got the exact same helmet, scorp exo7oo good stuff man, good to see a Mvlog from ya, and the quality aint that bad, agree with you about part of the helmet being in the frame and all, ride safe man
Haha actually, the thought of "whatever happened to Wilks? :/" did cross my mind the other day :D good to see you're still here buddy :) what state do you live in anyways? you seem to ave a small accent :)
@airsoftrifleman I live on the MS Gulf Coast. I have kind of regained my accent since moving back here 18 months ago...lol. I lost a good bit of it being in the Navy and in VA for almost 20 years.
@Wilks89 Ahh! lol I didn't know you were in the Navy, that's pretty cool, I'm in the NJROTC at my school (not that it's anything even close to the real Navy, just sayin' :) ) I'll admit, I'm a yankee, but if there is one thing I love about the south, it's the roads lol.
@airsoftrifleman That is cool, we had AJROTC when I was in high school. It was fun and definitely enjoyed my time doing it. Do you guys get to go to Norfolk for any summer field trips and get to see the ships?
@Wilks89 haha, actually, we had a trip there last year, but I didn't go, I went to Mini boot camp instead, revelry at 5:00 AM then PT and a five mile run... it was really fun, but I fell out of my tent one night and fire watch thought I was a bear... LOL xD
I liked biology as well. I just did the Natchez ride. I got some video, but I have much editing to do. I liked the ride very much. I am working on the Ozarks thing. Much to edit as well.
lol.. It's been hot and dry since the meet-up. Anyway, the angle looks spot-on. None of these things are "perfect" ... yet. Did you shoot this at 30 or 60 fps? If you just watch the road, the footage looks like 60 fps, if you watch the tree tops it almost looks like it's shot in 30 fps.
@XXX526 I shot that one at 60fps. Think I will do my next one at 30 just to see the difference. Looking at the raw footage though, seems as though this camera doesn't have the focus range as some of the other ones. I still like the picture quality of the kodaks over the sony, but what can ya do. The rotatable lens just works great.
Man, if my head wasn't so monstrous and I could fit a camera like that in the front, I would totally opt to do something like that. Instead, I can either destroy my helmet and cut out the front completely, or let the camera sit on the rim of my helmet like I have been doing. Great vid.
@ToastToGo It did just barely touch my nose in the 700 but I have plenty of room in the 1000. Guess the helmets are built just a tad different in that regard. Might want to check out that perspective for you rnext helmet.
I agree with you on the fact that viewing 'as a passenger' can get a little frustrating, but I still chose to mount my camera like that as I thought it gave the best overall angle. But also like you said, everyone's got there own thing, right? :) Cheers man, great video!
@roboticdolphin Thanks, yeah, that is why I would never down someone for what camera they are using. We do what we can with what we have and like. Thanks for watching!
Hahah, you are a camera whore Mike! I still haven't used my drift for vlogging yet...because I'm not a big fan of the the "Riding as a passenger" look of the helmet in the frame...DavidHowellCA is a Drift user that knows how to get it just right....I still haven't figured out how he does it...hahaha
@billmaa Think it just takes a lot of practice. I'm sure they will grow on me more when the price drops to about 200.00....lol. It is nice in that you dont have a huge block in your helmet with you though. Pluses and Minuses on everything.
And yeah, if I had all the money back I have spent over the past 4 years on various cameras, I could afford a drift or Contour...lol
Howzit brutha, happy for your return my friend!! Cam looks great bro and the angle is perfect. Totally agree with your viewpoints on the Drift camera, especially the part about feeling like you are trying to look around the damn helmet, and at 400 bucks what a fuckin ripoff!! I'll stick with my cheap cameras!! Aloha brutha Wilks!!
@REEDSBUD No doubt, I say give em a few years and hopefully the price will drop to something a bit more acceptable. Still really enjoying your HI series. That is some beautiful terrain there.
@Wilks89 Rite on bro, I am glad that a few of my subs out there are enjoying my Big Island series, it's kinda funny cuz every time I upload a new Hawaii video I lose at least 4 subscribers?? I guess that if it's NOT a motorcycle video EVERY time that my channel is not worth shit??!! I am just happy that I have subscribers that are more open minded and enjoy variety in a channel!! Mahalos for your support as always brutha Wilks!! Aloha!!
@rynoride Thanks Ryno. It was after I watched your last vid that I told myself that I had to get out there and get some new footage and get a vid up. Thanks for hanging with me.
@wht93civic actually north of I-10 so it would be Firetower.
