  • One of those rare movies you would watch stoned and also with your kids, but probably not both at the same time

  • this is some shit ill see in a dream

  • When I was a kid I had a cat named Teva and a dog named Tear...My mom named them. Now I understand. XD

  • This is awesome

  • trippiest thing i've ever seen

  • this movie makes one go through a humbling moment in thought when you contemplate that this could be taking place in a parallel universe.

  • Teeva's rather sweet when she smiles. I think she's the only Draag we see smiling? (I guess the fact that their facial expressions are always so blank and the fact that they never blink just adds to their creepiness)

  • haha love hearing the sample for come on feet by quasimoto

  • I don't really think you can compare this movie to Avatar. The only thing both movies have in common are blue skinned aliens and weird ecosystems. Terr is a human just like the others. He's not a Draag turned into a human who joins them in a revolt.

  • @TheGreaterGood80

Well Cameron made it the other way around but he did borrowed some elements from this, Man Called Horse, Last of the Mohicans, Lightyears (aka Gandahar), Ferngully, Nausicaa, Princess Mononoke, Pom Poko, Dune, Star Wars and Willow.

  • my dad tried to get me to watch this when i was a kid, but i didnt like the vibe and didnt want to watch it.. so here i am many years later, and im enjoying it alot more

  • I knew I would like this since im into strange and abstract movies but has really drawn me in. Naturally you wouldnt expect this to be so exciting :D.

  • @BLACKSABBATH0HM - Werd.

  • The voice-acting is absolutely magnificent!

  • 2:58-4:23

the best thing that ive ever seen

  • so trippy

  • Anyone thinks this is the original Avatar? in fact it's one of James Cameron's favorite animated movies and used it as one of the inspirations to his new movie.

  • This sounds so much like Stephenie Myer's "The Host."

Wonder if she's ever seen this work of art!

  • around 8:56 he mentions he managed to acquire some knowledge of the draags. it sounded like he said "drugs". hahaha. very full of symbolism. the surreal landscapes and crosshatching is beautiful

  • The wordages they usilize are fantabulous.

  • the music reminds of some of the atmosphere songs on early Pink Floyd albums, or Tangerine Dream's Enchore. gotta love the 70s

  • it's filled with tons of symbolism...

  • This 2-D animated film conveys more emotion and power than, most if not all, of the 3D animated films of today, and whoever says 2D animation is outdated hasn't seen this film yet.

  • 9:22 ..... Whoever made this movie was on something.... O.o I find myself continuing to watch even though it's so weird....

  • They sure did like wahwahs and heavy reverb back in the 70s

  • @joejumps4fun yea. it was a better time.

  • @joejumps4fun Alain Goraguer was heavily influenced by American funk musicians who emigrated to France in the seventies to record their material (much of Goraguer's music from this film has been sampled by modern hip-hop DJs and producers)

  • Don't let the Oms get out of control! Spay and Neuter your Om!

  • hahahahaha! the music doesnt make sense

  • This is scary as shit.

  • whoa wait when i first saw this i thought at 2:20 she had a girl in her right hand and a boy in her left hand. Then she put that thing on his head and i thought she was going to have them mate or something. That scared me quite a bit

  • I find myself coming back to this movie. It's fantastic even down to the music, sometimes I have it as background noise for when I'm stodying.

  • Did I fall asleep and dream this up?

  • @amiablesnowman don't make me slap you

  • it's like... reverse smurfs

  • This art is very Terry Gilliam like...

  • or i mean, they could just neuter and spay teh ohms :P

  • On occasion a toy would dare to rebel...

  • At 2:03, Tiwa is momentarily distracted by her other "toys". I find this very interesting and very foreshadowing. Also much emphasis is made to the drop of water falling from Tiwa's finger. Symbolic of the spatial relationships between Draags and tiny Oms.... a drop of water to a Draag, is very much to an Om.

Now the visions the men are sharing.... very odd. It further alienates and bewilders Ter. A similar reaction is found later from him during the Om Mass sex.... incredible film!

  • i think it is blood, not water

  • what are some other movies like this with the sort of music and art ? any1 ?

  • trippy indeed

  • it's like someone died, went to hell, came back and made a movie out of it.

  • @SuperYouGerT Maybe you were right

  • this is some of the most trippiest shit ive seen

  • this film make a huge impact on me as a young one. It took a long time to find it on VHS then on DVD, not to even talk about the LP & CD soundtracks

  • @bonanzza same here. most people didn't even know what film i was mentioning.

  • They never blink

  • @naesnavillus On wikipedia it says they have huge protruding red eyes so i dont think they can blink

  • I think the music is what makes this movie so damn trippy

  • @ADAMKTN the music is so good !!! , do you know who is the composer ?

  • @sweepy90 Alain Goraguer

  • Quasimoto-Come on Feet Samples at 1:37

  • the scenery in this movie is so mystifying

  • fantastic movie
