Having both Thunderbolt and Thunder on Manectric is redundant. You might wanna replace Thunder with Hidden Power Ice. That gives you perfect neutral coverage.
@RevePaul15 Definitely. I usually try to beat the gym leader with just one pokemon if possible. All the gym leaders should be around 55-65, while the elite four should be 70's. Seeing as the show always shows the champion raping the elite four, s/he should be low 80's. Oh, and no more "you must beat my gym to fly" crap.
@DerTeufel0707 I agree with pretty much your whole comment. I'd also like to see a game where all the gym leaders are powerful. If Brock's as legendary as the game makes him out to be (my favorite leader), then his strongest pokemon shouldn't be a level 14 Onix! A game where you can't beat the gym leaders because you caught their weakness 5 min earlier...
@DragoRidley17 Water gun squirtle or vinewhip bulba is just a free badge. I wish the gym leaders were harder too. Also idk wether anyone else like this but to make it harder the player should only be allowed to use the same number (or less) of pkmn as the leader like the show
@DragoRidley17 Yup. They should also scrap the: "You have to get THIS badge to use THIS HM"-thing. You should go all the way through the Pokémon world without having to get gym badges for using the HMs, then you should face the gym leaders and THEN face the Elite 4(their Pokémon should be in the 70's up to 80's level). And go to the other regions(for example Johto)perhaps. After that maybe a really epic(and I mean reaaally epic)boss battle with level 90's Pokémon and up(Maybe Red again?).
@DerTeufel0707 We agreed on the levels too. Great minds think alike, I guess. How about we continue this through pm's so we don't clog up the comments page anymore.
@AlexisBravoTV Depends on your taste and how you play, gotta say I had better experience with Venusaur and Torterra than with Meganium. I preferred playing with a Charizard or Infernape than with a Typhlosion too. I also prefer Swampert and Feraligatr over Blastoise. Actually, every starter in every generation is somehow useful. To be honest, my favourites are still the Kanto starters, not only that they look cool, they are also pretty useful. So basically every starter is somehow good.
@DragoRidley17 You're right, they also look pretty stupid to be honest. I don't like their looks. I mean the starters back then supposed to look cool so you'd want all 3 of them. But in this generation, I was like: "Just one and never again...". I hope that 6th gen will have good starters, or maybe a mix of different starters from previous generations, that'd be cool.
No offence but I think light screen were a better choice at the start when you sent out Meganium. Can reduce a bit of damage. But come to think of it, its opponents couldn't really do much damage. =D Why am I commenting?
pokemon funfact: the only reason feraligatr is spelled that way because the letter limit for pokemon names doesnt allow the "o" to get in between the "t" and "r"
@silentsniper5789 but i used this on soul silver. the only stat lower is speed which is understandable. i definantly prefer torterra. plus he looks cool!
@dudewild i dont see how torterra looks cool (stares at the ugly tree growing out of its back) and i prefer meganium. also i think you misunderstood my statement. torterra is very easy to use in platinum. and would have a harder time in johto, which includes soulsilver. ya see its all about the gym leaders you fight. meganium would own platinum just like torterra
@silentsniper5789 well if you saw my first comment you would have seen that i used him n soul slver (sorry i am drunk right now so if i talk shit im sorry) i am using him in soul silver as i have charizard torterra and the water feraligator. and torterra in soul silver owns! i tuahgt him eneergy ball so he is super aweeosme :P
@dudewild i hate to break this to you but teaching torterra just about any non physical attack except leafstorm only makes it weaker. im only 14 and i know that.
@silentsniper5789 not really, meganium is the hardest to raise in johto only, but if he was in kanto it would be pretty damn easy to raise him. anyways hes pretty good
@silentsniper5789 You actually think you're an expert for choosing Meganium? Rofl rofl! XD Meganium is a powerful support pokemon in the UU tier, as well as being a strong physical and special wall, made even more so with Sunny Day support and Synthesis (as well as the ever so popular SubSeed combo). Meganium is a powerful choice, but grass is a horrible type for the Standard tier, hence why it is bound by chains to the UU tier. Expert, LOL
@SimpleSoundsMusic heehee, it'll be surprised to see my venusaur's ice attacks. it comes all the way from the generation 3 games since 2005. if only i had a DS =(
Switch out Earthquake for Stone Edge; it covers ALL of Torterra's weaknesses (Fire, Ice, and Flying), and take out Protect/Crunch for another recovery/stalling move (i.e. Synthesis/Light Screen). Wood Hammer's a great STAB move assuming you're out to hit something that isn't as bulky with it.

@SoulSilver002 - - Light Screen / Reflect / Aromatherapy - Synthesis - Energy Ball Item Attached: Leftovers Ability: Overgrow EVs and Nature: EVs: 252 HP / 80 Def / 178 SDef Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) Plays to Meganium's strong points and can help your team much more than a sweeper Meganium ^.^ If you REALLY want a sweeper... - Swords Dance - Synthesis - Seed Bomb - Earthquake Item Attached: Leftovers Ability: Overgrow EVs and Nature: EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spd
