Lucah, you suck at this! I finished this game and started after you, playing blind as well with no experience in any Mario RPG-style games. Well, I still enjoy watching, so please continue anyway. And I bet others have already commented on this, but B is the button you use for Hammer, A is the one you use to Jump, and Cdown is the one you use to activate Partner Abilities, all on the overworld field.

I was kinda like "NO DON'T DO THAT" when you just threw away the Super Shroom from the first fight and let it vanish. It's a good idea to at least eat it/another item for HP recovery and then grab it so nothing goes to waste.

Hey Lucah, I'd use the Ice Power badge if I were you, it will also let you jump on fire enemies just like the Fire Shield badge, it will also let you do more damage to them too.

I wouldn't feel to bad about failing in this dungeon, it can be pretty tough and I see your getting better, you seem to be finding your way around better than Josh unlike how it was back at Dry Dry Ruins~

After this dungeon (and chapter) though, I highly advise picking up a life shroom somewhere. It will save you from another moment like that, it'll revive you with 10 HP if you die.

One quick tip: If you know that your partner will be able to take out the enemy/enemies left at the beginning of your and your partner's turn, use your move to Focus, and then finish off the rest with your partner. That way, you fill up your Star Power Bar quicker, and can use more poop attacks :D

I don't know if anyone mentioned this already, but since you equipped the Ice Power badge, you can actually jump on those fireball enemies.It's an unlisted bonus.

Ice power enables you to jump on fire enemies. The added attack power also makes jumping on them deal more overall damage. You may want to keep that in mind, for the boss especially.

Lucah, don't feel too bad about dying in this dungeon. Most of us that are helping you have been playing the game since we were kids. I don't know about the rest, but I know I always dread Chapter 5 because it's so difficult.

Hang in there and avoid fights if you have to. The enemies are just cruel, and not really worth it. You've got a good badge setup. I won't spoil the boss, but just know you'll need Sushie's Ultra-rank move. Ice Power for Mario is also a must.

I understand your pain because I pretty much used to have the same control setup but then I got a usb 360 controller which is actually worse XD but the generic one broke so I'm stuck with it :/. But may I ask what version of the emulator you're using? I can assume you're using Project 64 v1.6 but I noticed the upgrading effects (when you upgraded Sushi) were alot better looking than mine. Also what kind of graphic card do you have? I'm using an Ati powered one.

It's probably already been mentioned in the earlier comments, but when Merlee's spell triggers at the end of a battle, it always doubles your star points. Wait until that triggers, though, when you've just beaten a boss and earned 30+ star points BEFORE the spell takes effect. :D

A good thing to do when your inventory is full and you get an item like that super shroom is to eat one of the ones you have then pickup the one and that way you get the same amount of shrooms but you also healed

@lucahjin actually, it was seen briefly in the video; during the second zipline, if you jump off about half-way, you'll land on a platform that'll have the fire shield on it. A fairly good badge for this area, as it not only reduces all fire-based attacks by 1, but also allows you to jump on fire enemies (which normally burn you when you jump on them)

Piranha Plants = 12 HP - bosses in their own right = death

If you see a duplicate healing item that you can't hold, eat the one in your inventory, and then grab the new one.

Bombette and "Derpy" are also great choices to upgrade, after Sushie. Definitely upgrade Watt to Ultra rank before the end of the game, though.

Ice Power badge allows you to jump on fire enemies as well.

Keep the Spike Shield Badge equipped permanently from now on.

You should take NCS on this magical journey through Mushroom Kingdom. During a dungeon, of course.

I would also suggest using Sushie's Water Block to increase Mario's defense. I think it's especially effective against fire attacks, too. And one more thing :P Start looking into some Tayce T. recipes because it looks like you're starting to need stronger healing and FP-restoring items.

If you fight Spike Tops again, use Quake Hammer. I think that will kill them in one shot. If not, it'll at least flip them over so that they won't be able to attack. Also, you don't have to use Sushie in every fight :) Kooper is pretty effective against the Piranhas if you use Dizzy Shell to stun them. And I don't recall if you are aware of this, but Refresh cures poison. Of course, you're likely to get poisoned again in the same fight, so maybe the Feeling Fine badge would be a good idea.

@DrChikin Oops, I meant power quake, not quake hammer. You could use quake hammer just to flip them over, if you are looking for a lower FP alternative. Sorry if you're annoyed with all this advice lol. But I figured since you died, you might want some extra guidance :P Imo, this dungeon is not so bad if you use the right stuff. But it is tough for everyone the first time around!

don't worry lucah. This dungeon is designed to be hard. There is a reason i don't like this chapter it isn't because of sushie, it is the fact that i was never a fan of volcano levels. Although, i mentioned last time that bombette, parakerry and sushie all had good ultra rank moves for this boss if you run into another ultra block along the way.
