This IS black metal partially, because it clearly has influences of it. Just because it doesnt have blast beasts it doesnt mean it's not black metal. There are lots of subgenres of black metal without blast beats. This just doesnt have such a fast tempo.

@Benteiron not necessarily. there are quite a few christian black metal bands out there. the deciding factor really, is the difference in sound. think of it this way. Black metal is pepsi, dark metal is pepsi one. very similar taste, but with a few subtle differences. Black metal relies alot on tremello picking, and blastbeats, dark metal is usually more melodic. and yes, i threw in the pepsi reference not because it was really useful, more because i am thirsty
