Just saw Adam share this story with Lynn Sue Shepperd on a local news station tonight here in Phoenix. He said that it was something to be able to play guitar with a great band. his kids think he's a rock star. Good for you Adam.
No one's probably gonna read this, but I’ll say it anyway cuz I feel at least 1 person will. I'm a young designer and graffiti artist, I know there's a million out there but I feel like my art has a unique individual style.
If you just take a min and give me a chance I'll make you a believer. I would love nothing more than to have a loyal following on youtube. If anyone who reads this could press the "THUMBS UP" others will see it. Just a simple button push will make a huge difference.
Personally, I think a camper is a fair trade for a green guitar. Do what you want with it! Its just a material possession. Nothing can diminish your magical moment.
blwvideo is DEFINITELY not Adam Bevell!!! My brother would not even think about selling the guitar from Bono. That is just ludicrous!! Everyone can rest assured that the guitar will be cherished and passed down!!!
Dude, If you sell that guitar that was GIVEN to you by Bono himself after that amazing night I will personally come over there and kick your ass!! You gotta know that ANY money you get for that beautiful guitar will not be replaced by not having it forever. You can give it to your kids or grandkids when you die and tell them about the wonderful night in Nashville when you got to play with U2 and sing with Bono!! PLEASE RECONSIDER!!
@PetefromTn - We could take our kids and grandkids out in our pop-up camper, too. Maybe I could even invite Bono to go camping to return the favor! He is such a great guy!
This was totally not a set up. I am Adam, the blind guitarist, though I do have partial sight in my eyes. Bono gave me hope in what literally is a dark world for me. I will cherish this memory forever, even though I mainly play synthesizer and juggle (badly) as you can see on my channel. Thank you, Bono. You are my hero.
Adam was interviewed by 4 stations today...local NBC, Fox 10, CNN & CBS...very cool. He's still on cloud nine. See facebook for his new fan page Adam Bevell. :)
Hey folks, thanks for checking out this video. The coolest recording of this particular segment of the show so far that I've seen is here. Up close and personal. YouTube won't let me post the link. But check out MrDocholiday76's channel. Apparently, the guy up there with Bono is Adam Bevell from Mesa, AZ.
@bonozitoun1 It's Bono's custom Gretsch Irish Falcon. There are apparently only 13 ever made. This dude is one genuinely lucky fellow. I'm sure his wife was blown away by this. I try to put myself in his shoes: being blind and still nervous as hell not knowing who is around you, what type of stage you're on...total disorientation. Amazing to me. Good for this guy and his wife. Much props to Bono for doing this. I'm bummed I wasn't able to go. Hope all who went had a great time.
My wife and I were there last night. I have seen MANY concerts and that was BY FAR the best I have ever seen. I almost fell on the floor when he gave him that beautiful guitar. I know it is nothing for him monetarily but I KNOW that fellow will remember that night and cherish the guitar and that moment forever. Amazing....
My ears are still ringing and I loved every minute of that show....peace
@PetefromTn - Yes, Bono's guitar is beautiful! I wish my wife would let me keep it, but, the offers from fans for it have been astounding-- nearly five thousand dollars! She is thinking we should put it on eBay so we can afford the new camper that is also a dream of ours. I think Bono would have wanted it to go to good use so he can make two of my dreams come true. Thank you Bono!!!
@blwvideo It's a free country. Do what you will. If you're hurting for cash, I can totally see you selling it to pay bills etc. I can see Bono supporting that. But to trade 10 mins of a dream moment for what? A $5000 camper? Really? That's what that moment was worth to you? Consider this - for a brief moment every one in that stadium (maybe the entire U2verse) wanted to be YOU! You with all your accomplishments, victories, failures and challenges. Think about it. (cont'd)
@blwvideo (Cont'd fr below) For any U2 fan, 4 a brief moment everything was right in the world. A blind guy was living his dream. Anything is now possible, You became a symbol. We actually were "ONE." When you're given something great, there are great responsibilities. Also consider that next time Bono thinks about giving a fan something personal & precious, he's gonna think: "It's gonna end up on Ebay" & not do it. You have a dream & a magical memory in your hands. Please don't cheapen it.
@jd45177 Hey thanks. I thought it was a Gretsch originally - but one of the reporters here said it was a Fender. He & I were obviously wrong. Will change the description.
