Treasury could set up a new, new, new, tax-advantaged - to tax-free bond series to capture and service those dollars (on-line, would be good) if legislators and the Obama administration can invent the partnerships.
First I really like the members of his economic team that Obama has announced so far. Second, Obama will have have to first pull our economy out of the recession that we are now in as well as setting the foundation for long term economic growth.
I actually am not particularly worried that the President-Elect will be timid on economic matters the way Bill was. All of his top advisors, whether Summers, Goolsbee, etc. have all changed their tune in recent months and years to the point where Goolsbee is saying the stimulus is going to have to have a lot of zeros tacked on.
I love Inside the Transition videos. Keep them coming. They are brief yet informative. I'm so excited for the pdf.'s of the government's budget and legislation. Where is the team for election reform?

These videos are great. It makes it possible I think for the US government to actually rival and be a larger people magnet then American Idol. It is truly a welcome change to know some of the people who we elected to govern our beloved country.
I'm appalled at the Obama campaign's decision to back off the windfall profits tax on oil companies, but even more appalled that it was done as stealthily as possible. This does not look good at all. I just hope that whoever is reading this knows that. After having devoted so many resources to having him elected, this is like a direct backhand to his constituency. We can understand filling the cabinet with Clinton (read: corporate hacks) for the experience...but not this.
Oil is around $44 a barrel. All those insane profits that the oil companies made is coming back to the citizens through the insanely low prices of oil. The markets took affect before policy had to. I'm glad we have a President-elect that will adjust to reality and not stay rigidly with plans that fail. Seeing as how Obama has a 78% approval rating so far makes it seem like not to many people are as upset as you.
