They're only making it more "rookie/sideshow friendly" now that they have these "coaches" helping out. On one hand, it'll make guys do cooler dunks because now they have a guy telling them what to do, but now it's less incentive for the stars to do it.

First off, they need to bring back 8 contestants like they used to, not 4 like they did this year. Secondly, the dunkers need to stop hanging on the rim after every dunk, it looks tacky and cheapens the dunk. Lastly, the dunkers need to practice their form. Theey'e too sloppy nowadays. Jordan and Dominique had form. Todays dunkers have legs flying in sloppy directions and they hang on the rim way too long.
dunk contests should be every 3 years that way you'll expect those chosen would be down right insane with their creativity, instead of oh lets say repeated dunks?

Yeah, it was pretty bad. I just saw the replay on NBA TV. Nate's worst showing so far but some of his dunks were pretty impressive. Disapointed with DeMar DeRozan who won the McDonalds High School Dunk contest and several others. I agree about Gerald Wallace, he was half asleep through the whole thing. Shannon Brown pulled of better in game dunks this season. Dunking the basketball is not an easy thing to do and when you have to dunk in front of 100,000 people and be flashy is even harder.

With a Nike deal he would be somewhat of a rising star. Plus the NBA needs to add another event. I've always wanted to see a race to determine the NBA's fastest man.

the contest used to have 6 or more contestants and BIG MARQUEE players wanting to win!! The whole thing of using a team mate to pass you the ball is stupid... someone PLEASE do a statue of liberty 360 dunk from the free throw line or SOMETHING other than a reverse dunk.. this year's contest look liked a bunch of boys at a 8 ft rim dunking for the first time... haha

im not gonna lie, i never heard of anyone in the contest this year except for nate, and that's only cuz im from NY. you need lebron and wade and kobe, give them a cash prize or something that will benefit their team so when they dont do it, they look like assholes.

The only dunk that was entertaining during the dunk contest was the Demar DeRozan off the side of the backboard windmill dunk. Other than that the participants should of been : Nate Robinson, LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Rudy Gay .

They mite hav a hard time thinkin of new dunks but this was the worst contest ever and it was 2010. You shud stil do hard dunks. Also the NBA thinks jus cuz u can jump high you hav a creative style. If Lebron was n the dunk contest it stil wud of suk becus he dunks like Shannon. They can fly and it's great for a game but a contest needs style. Niether of them have style. All of lebron dunks are basic, high and hard but basic. Great dunkers need to have creativity and body control.

2009 was ok 2008 was pretty entertainin but with 2010 it was just horrible. in about they'll probably end the dunk contest in like 2018 or somethin caus by then every humanly possibly dunks would all be overused and exhausted

First off, they need to bring back 8 contestants like they used to, not 4 like they did this year. Secondly, the dunkers need to stop hanging on the rim after every dunk, it looks tacky and cheapens the dunk. Lastly, the dunkers need to practice their form. Theey'e too sloppy nowadays. Jordan and Dominique had form. Todays dunkers have legs flying in sloppy directions and they hang on the rim way too long.

Yeah, it was pretty bad. I just saw the replay on NBA TV. Nate's worst showing so far but some of his dunks were pretty impressive. Disapointed with DeMar DeRozan who won the McDonalds High School Dunk contest and several others. I agree about Gerald Wallace, he was half asleep through the whole thing. Shannon Brown pulled of better in game dunks this season. Dunking the basketball is not an easy thing to do and when you have to dunk in front of 100,000 people and be flashy is even harder.

To add incentives, have the winner receive a massive Nike deal, that way, the guys will try and you might launch a new star. If Derozan won it, he would be easily forgotten. With a Nike deal he would be somewhat of a rising star. Plus the NBA needs to add another event. I've always wanted to see a race to determine the NBA's fastest man.
