i am a national level sculler and i can tell you now that that is poor ergo technique, posture not great, sequencing needs work, he starts to bend his knees before his hands are past them etc
I'm not exactly an olympic coach, but that is not good technique. Your not flexible enough to get the full reach, and your opening your back far to early, which means your back is fighting your leg drive, not helping it.
