  • Amazing

  • 2 people are apparently deaf.

  • Absolute Klasse!

  • Is this the Neumann KU100?

They should have mounted that thing on a slow turntable. ;)

  • that looks like tons of fun. i would love to record using a dummy head. i can't tell you what i can just imagine on doing with a binaural recording

  • this dummy sounds good!

  • how could one person dislike this video?

  • @chueey14 He or she was probably using the Beats.

  • its weird how binaural gives you more texture and detail than a tradition stereo CD/recording, the kind of sound even on crappy youtube quality gives you the impression of space that (if in proper quality) would make an expensive cd player seem closed in and dry.

you wouldn't actually hear the hand slap / skin on the drum and all its inflections on a normal cd recording, its the type of sound audiophiles have been searching for. All they needed was a dummy head, some software and two mics LOL

  • @meggerman It's not quite that simple. Go to HDtracks.com and download the free samples they have to see what normal recordings can be like if mic'd right and not ruined with horrible mastering. Oh, and they sound good on speakers too (not to take anything away from binaural recordings, which have their own place).

Alternatively, there's plenty of (relatively) popular albums out there that are very high quality - try Couldn't Stand The Weather or Brothers in Arms, for example.

  • @MSUTri I agree with you there; an amazing stereo recording will pull you in just as easily. But, as a person who spends so much of their time in headphones, sometimes the difference between the two recording methods can make a huge difference. Though, I have to say its interesting to listen to this with and without headphones and hear what is lost due to cross-talk.

  • seiiiiii mitiiicoooooo ottmar, vai cosiii

  • It confused me because I thought I was in the camera's position but then realized I was in the middle but then, I had to watch and remind me I was in the center. Very clean audio. And very relaxing music. Luv it. I just recorded my friend playing piano too in Binaural, my first try. Check on my ids if you r curious.

  • why didn't they take the video from the corner with no musician?!?!?!?!? that's where this thing is oriented!!!

  • Ecept for the image wich looks a bit different, from the soundstage, the acoustics are excelent, and the soud is very pleasent and relaxing to hear.

This sound experience, i also lived inside of Renault Megane 3 Arkamys wich sounds divine and great, in terms of soundstage and listening, and Sagem my700x wich haves Arkamys buit in and the acoustics of that phone are similar to the Megane, and i will buy one, it's a great car.

When we will se Arkamys audio for home use on PC ?

  • @connectorxp Arkamys has not yet started work on improving the sound for PCs, but we are looking to implement that in 2011.

At the end of this year Arkmays will be signing a deal to implement it's technology in TVs offering a large sound stage without adding any extra hardware.

  • @ArkamysListen I understand, if the TV isn't Samsung, i wiil buy one, if haves a good money to features ratios. I will wait for the solution for PCs, because Dolby Headphone is good, but a bit "cold", dosen't have the sound of the Sagem, for example.

  • Amazing naturalness! Very good music too. For the best effect, use open-air high quality headphones and close your eyes.

  • @kloug2006 Exactly, close the eyes is best because your view is NOT your ears here!

  • bravo

  • Really good, but I think it's a lot cooler if you don't watch the video, you just listen instead.

  • Beautiful! more music should be recorded in binaural

  • @Naas2005 I happen to agree - mainly because I record a lot of stuff in binaural, using the same mannequin head pictured in the O.L. video. If you want to check some out, you can visit the immersifi webpage and click on "Recent Work". That will give you three links for binaural concerts - Cowboy Junkies, Sam Roberts Band, and an ensemble cast show. Of these, the CJ show is almost all binaural (a small bit of stereo mixed in) but the otehrs are pure binaural. Grab your headphones!

  • Amazing!!! This is really freakin good.

  • They should put the camera where the microphone is, although I guess you couldnt see the other people but it would be cool

  • yeah...binaural is cool...but the guitarist is down right OUTRAGEOUS! Great job guys! Searching for more now.

  • @ayavelow please make sure you are using headphones. You should hear the sounds move around you as if you were sitting were the dummy head is

  • Awesome sound quality, and wonderful performance. The rhythm component sounds great in the recording, but as far as listening enjoyment, I'd prefer it closer to the center of the soundstage instead of so far to the left. The left placement was excellent for demonstrating the powerful effects of the binaural microphone setup though. This is definitely one of the best binaural music recordings I've experienced! I look forward to hearing more.

  • Awesome guys.

  • Big difference with the headphones.
