  • Thanks for this video series. You make this all look so simple. I thought I might have to send work out to a heat-treat shop, but so much can be done with very basic tools. Thanks!

  • good demonstration,i wondered about using a woodstove to heat treat.just happens i have a similar stove.gonna try a few pieces myself.

  • Now that's a FIRE!

For a guy with a busted heat pump, I'm grateful for your upload. I swear it's warmer in here. I think I'll just replay it all winter long. THANKS!

  • Where these are machinery pins, why wouldn't you go for a 4140 induction hard chrome material? no heat treatment needed just machine and go.

  • @DieselCrawler86 Mostly due to the welded on ear...

Just today a 1.55" dia. boom / bucket piviot pin about 10" to 11" long, with a greese zerk hole and cross pin hole and I'm going to use 4340 and do an oil quench hardening on it...

  • @KEF791 hey, gives ya a reason to do an oil change on your truck! haha

  • I love the sirens in the background when you're stuffing the pins into the stove. Crash, boom, bang, crash, weeeeeoooooo, weeeooooooo..

  • HAHAHAHA, LOL!!!! this is the fourth video i've seen of yours and i enjoyed them all..,but i got to tell you, if you never would have taken those pins outside in the bucket to cool, i would have still thought your shop was somewhere on an old ship at the lower section by the coal boilers..that's what i ave been thinking all along, you were somewhere on ship, hahaha but your in the burb's...you have such a cool looking , old fashion, sweat, and blood shop...thanks ..
