  • well

you should put your mother inside that box and let her run to death :D

  • so like, the little organisms under the microscope control the light thing in the beggining and end?

and u said they "manipulate" the programs so does that mean they learn from it?

  • Are they like copepods?

  • computers of the future man...bacteria based

  • Looks like Caught faries in a box!

    Wow!

  • what type of animal is this?

  • They are called "Daphnia". from wikipedia: Daphnia are small, mostly planktonic, crustaceans, between 0.2 and 5 mm in length. Daphnia are members of the order Cladocera, and are one of the several small aquatic crustaceans commonly called water fleas because of their saltatory swimming style (although fleas are insects and thus only very distantly related). They live in various aquatic environments ranging from acidic swamps to freshwater lakes, ponds, streams and rivers.

    heh

    so cool!

  • Is the critter also piloting the camera?

  • Is the critter also piloting the camera?

  • this is awesome, but i wish that the OS was Linux so i could brag about "even microscopic organisms can run linux, i don't know why you find it that complicated".

  • They want an excuse for paying 100$ for an os, so that they don't feel cheated.

  • Probably, but if that is the case they can use paypal to collaborate to any of this free distributions or just get OSX

  • That's great I wonder if there are applications for this kind of simple animal machine control. I want to see it controlling a robot equipped with light sensors that feed back to the LEDs on the daphnien's tank. That way it could steer the robot towards light sources. Great work.

  • awesome
