Well the thing with ellie's gun is that Pacino came out with the 12 gauge and she could claim self defense or she could have found william's body and used the ballistics and such from both wounds to claim they shot each other.

An amazing movie but they should've focused on "insomnia" more. They referred back to it a lot but it didn't seem to make a big impact. I could be wrong since I only seen this movie once but that's the only problem I came across. No twist kinda sucked but it is an adaption to be fair
