Hi i have had GTC seizure's since i was a baby i am now 27 years and really anoys me when niegbours near me keep saying go and get even low i get set off by lots of including all lights i also have arthritis astha neurofibromatosis a heart condition kerved spine in a weelchair aswell as other health contions and you get people who went to a mainstream school or college being little bastards
You know we live with Mari's seizures everyday but on our wall are 2 posters of info for care while someone has a seizure. Its just something that does not allow for mistakes while they are happening. A person seizing can get hurt so easily and they need us to help protect them from harm. I hope this video helps someone.
My mom's friend had epilepsy. She had a seizure in our home. It was a very scary experience. My mom was educated in the procedures involved, the ones you mentioned. Afterwards all she did was want to sleep as she was drained. I can't imagine having to deal with such a disorder without falling in to the pit of self loathing. The people who live successfully with this or any other mental disorder/illness are inspirations to us all. We should all take note of how they have overcome and deal with it
winjunk, Thank you for that info. Its good to know for us care givers what medical personnel are thinking. When the Ambulance got here after our DD first GTC they whisked her away to the ambulance quickly. I did not know why, until I got in the ambulance and saw her seizing again. Its was good on their part, it helped me adjust to the next GTC better than I had the first.
Wow, this is very informative. I have worked on ambulances for years and find that on scene the the only person who knows what to do are the ambulance crew and the person who had the seizure, and if they have family and friends who have educated themselves. The rest of everyone around are more of a problem than they are of any help. Most of the work is spent getting them out of there. All the education that everyone can do will help to improve this. This is a very good and informative vid.
