Other lands remain un-ceded and subject to future treaty negotiations. Furthermore, I don't believe you that you would simply let people dictate your life in exchange for anything. Free will and consent are the basis of freedom.

None of the cases were specifically about the issue at Haldimand, of course, since I focused on treaty and land rights that were not grants. I am white, first of all. Secondly, you should actually read the treaties (agreements between nations) that guarantee natives certain rights and privileges (and derivative privileges as interpreted from those original agreements) in exchange for use of certain lands. Other lands remain un-ceded and subject to future treaty negotiations. Furthermore, I don't believe you that you would simply let people dictate your life in exchange for anything. Free will and consent are the basis of freedom.

Have you read them? Whatever the case, treaties tend to be broken or revised, and off hand I can't think of any part of the western world that treaties dating back 200 years still have relevance. Times change, you know.
Also, in terms of Six Nations, the Crown purchased land from the Ojibway and gave it to Six Nations. To the best of my knowledge, the Haldimand Proclimation is not a treaty, rather a land transfer. And it was often Six Nations that subsequently sold the land.

You are right about the Haldimand land issue, but I was speaking of the broader Aboriginal land question. Yes I have read all the cases on the matter, I did so for my masters in law. None of the cases were specifically about the issue at Haldimand, of course, since I focused on treaty and land rights that were not grants. The issue in Halidand is much more complex, for the reasons you stated (regarding sale etc.).

Who knows how much more tolerance our society can have for aboriginal terrorists. Hello Sean - Why are there no native farmers today? Did the white man drive them off their farms? There was time when I was the only disc-jockey that would go into the reserve at Cape Croker (north of Owen Sound), so I had not disrespect for that culture.
At that time I noticed that all the sports teams were managed by white men, and that the school had every light turned on at night, due to many break ins. You must admit that there is an internal problem within the aboriginal culture.

We resisted and fought for what is ours since the beginning, and we will continue to resist and fight for our ancestral homelands, our rights as native people, and to hold the gov. to their end of the deal. Whenever a case goes to court, they always want to point to the treaties, but they try to spin it so it may benefit their cause. They themselves do not, and rarely have ever honored the treaties but they expect us to. It can't be both ways. This is an ongoing problem for hundreds of yrs.

Yes, there are many agreements that were made to allocate certian lands to the immigrant whites. But, you must remeber that in the Royal Proclamation of 1763 and treatied 1-11 lands wre set aside an or "reserved" for the said Indians. Specific land claims deal with tenets within the traties and land claims agreements that were broken.
