  • This is all the more awesome now that they gave this jackass a TV show.

  • This video just shows how racist this country still is. Sharpton is not a elected official he doesnt sign any bills. His words dont carry any more weight than if rush limbaugh had made the same statement. In fact rush has more power since literally elected republicans have often been on rush's show apologizing to rush. The makers of this video are race baitng bigots and use sharpton as the black boogey man in order to scare the racist white supremacists that still exist in this country.

  • @rashadkijani They don't like Sharpton because he favors a nanny state, not because he's black. Join the 21st century.

  • @Rensune Like I said Al sharpton is not a public official. He doesnt make laws. He doesnt have any duty to sign bills any more than you or I. If you cant understand that then there is no help for you.

  • @rashadkijani Have either you or I run for public office? I have not (yet anyway) the reverend has. The question is valid as a hypothetical because of his many attempts. (However his response was also valid. Unlike his political platforms.)

  • @Rensune He may have ran for public office but he has never won. And he wasnt running for office in the context of this video. This video is in the context that he IS a elected official who didnt do his job by not reading the bill he should have read. Sharpton doesnt have any more power than you or I to sign any bills or make any laws.

  • Now this idiot Sharpton is all over this imigration bill in AZ. They want it to where if a cop pulls a car over at night and the driver rolls the window down and the cop sees that their brown he has to say," sorry I didn't know you were brown", and let them go.

  • Al Sharpton believes that a vote for Obama was a vote for socialism. watch?v=KCpINI5aVy0 Al Sharpton wants to share the wealth. “Al Sharpton: We Won't Have True Social Justice Until Everything is Equal in Everybody's House” watch?v=95bcEb1rV18

    .

Sharpton should start by giving up his $5 million (from celebrity net worth com) It’s also worth noting Hilter was a socialist that seemed to follow the Communist Manifesto.

  • Just beacuse someone says something is a "pocket constitution," does not mean it is a pocket constitution. The person could be lying, thus he or she would be requesting Sharpton to sign a random document or book. Sharpton or any other person would likely respond, "I don't sign anything I have not read." It's really not that difficult to understand. That's why it is hard to take your politics or your media seriously. Get a clue and stop depending on people being totally mindless. Be blessed!

  • It's hard to take this guy seriously with that wig he wears

  • Nick Gillespie is hot.

  • EXCLLENT VIDEO!!! "I don't sign anything I haven't read..." BWAHAHAHAHA!!! Hey Al, you dumbass, it's the United State's Constitution!!! Holy crap this is hilarious! :)

  • I sure hope he just wasn't paying attention, ha!

  • Pure truth, amazing. Reason is a great mag. Got my vote and cash1

  • If he's read it, he won't admit it, neither will the POTUS

  • All too true.

But this sort of ambush journalism should be beneath Reason.

  • This is hilarious! lmao!

  • Republicans freed the slaves. Robert KKK Byrd is the longest running racist in office

  • OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!! i wish there was a way to put videos on t-shirts!

  • it's obvious Sharpton didn't listen to the question ... but it doesn't make his response to said question any less a) damning and b) hysterically funny.

  • pot 420 demonize poor people every day

  • Al Sharpton dies and receives a pair of wings from an angel.

Flapping around in his new wings, Al Sharpton says to God: "Look God, I'm an angel."

God say's: "You're no angel, youre a fucking bat."

"You wasted all your time on earth playing the race card and promoting racial division and anarchy when you should've been working for unity and peace"....

"Now go, Satan is waiting to give you exactly what you have coming!"

  • I got one-

A guy checks into the hotel and tells the concierge, " I hope the porn channels in my room are disabled!"

The concierge looks at him in digust and she replies, " No, Sir! They're regular porn channels! You SICK Bastard!"

  • Best one Ive heard all week !!!!Told my wife...Same with her !!!!Good one.!!

  • this ste is bullshit. but that's typical of libertarians who are nothing but disgruntled right wing republicans. they're as capable as of lying as the right and left.

remember america, these libertarians are not holier that thou, they are liars and crooks just like the rest of the politicians.

  • I definitely don't like Sharpton, but it's pretty clear that he probably wasn't even listening to the person's question. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt here.

  • clever

  • hahahahahaha

    "I don't sign anything I haven't read"

how can you be an American citizen, claim to have a representative Republican form of government, and never read the Constitution. It's unbelievable.

I've met people that know what the Senate and House of Representatives are but they have no idea what Congress is..............

    help us

  • @elitebanktyranny

I think he means literally what he said, when he said

    "I don't sign anything I haven't read"

and as he can´t possibly have read before what was standing in this, he didn´t sign it, because even if someone says it´s something (in this case maybe a pocket constitution) it could be something else.

  • joe402=idiot

  • Hmm this Republican wants to keep weed illegal and he is really bad on social issues but MY TAX DOLLARS BOOTSTRAPS BIG GOV'T welp time to vote conservative!

*United States becomes even more fucked due to right wing rule*

  • Libertarian looking for donors? Charity? He must be a closet liberal.

  • @richpierce75204 Actually a liberal would just demand a bailout or a government subsidy.

  • Sharpton hasn't read the Constitution! :)

  • Wouldn't surprise me at all if Sharpton hadn't read the constitution. That guy is some piece of work. Great video. lol

  • What I find more amusing than the video are the excuses being made for Sharpton. You know damn well that if Bush were ever asked to sign a pocket Constitution and he replied, "I don't sign anything I haven't read," you people would be falling all over yourselves to forward it to everyone you know as the joke of the century.

  • Granting that someone has a "pocket constitution" and that it is demonstrably unaltered from the original, why is *anyone* else required to sign it upon request? Last I knew, the thing already had all the signatures needed. There are *lots* of valid ways to call Al Sharpton's words and deeds into question - this isn't really one of them.

  • the point is this.. 1. it's pretty obvious from the kind of policies mr sharpton supports, that he knows very little about the constitution and the separation of power. 2. in his own words "i don't sign anything i haven't read" it just coincidentally reflects something that is most likely true--he indeed doesn't know anything about it perhaps with the exception of the first two amendments. the point is not whether he will sign it.. this isn't hard to get.

  • I hate Al Sharpton but this clip is stupid and doesn't prove anything against him.

How does he know what he's signing when it's in a book he doesn't have time to read and fact check? There could be anything in that book, it doesn't have to be the constitution just because you say it is. It could be a trick for all he knows. All public figures have to take this attitude. Ignorant tricks like this are what make people so guarded about politics.

  • Sharpton IS A racist, Conservatives are NOT.

  • i dont know about sharpton...he might hate white people...i dont know...ive never heard him say that...but you might be right he might be racist...even though youve cited no evidence to back up your claim...

and your sweeping generalization of conservatives is clearly untrue...

i guess you havent seen the shit load of youtube videos with examples of racism at Mccain/Palin rallies during the election...clear cut evidence of some conservatives clearly being racist...

  • Then your comprehension has lost the truth.

  • "the truth"

which you provide no evidence for...which is clearly a generalization that cant possibly be true as evidence of racism by conservatives exists and isnt difficult to find...

  • Your mind is twisted by thinking you are smarter than all the rest of US. You need to read Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" and then Mark Levin's, "Liberty and Tyranny" Then come talk to me. Truth is not of your way yet.

  • you cant honestly think that there are no racist conservatives...really? thats a pretty bold claim considering if there is even evidence of one racist conservative...your claim would be proven wrong...

(there is evidence, and not hard to find even here on youtube)

and i never said i thought i was smarter than the rest of you...you just attributed that to me...just like the generalizations you made about conservatives...

why would i ever want to talk to you again? ur out of ur gd mind

  • All Democrats are racists by bringing up race when not voting for a Democrat.

  • that clip at the end was GOLD. I have NEVER been a fan of Al Sharpton.

  • That was a classic comedy moment.

  • lol!!!

  • I can honestly say I laughed out loud.

I wish congress followed that rule!

  • Unlike a 1900 page "healthcare bill" the greatest document respecting liberty in the free world will fit into your pocket. Interesting how that works.

  • That was a cheap trick...But it was funny.

  • Where's the trick? He told him what it was, and when Sharpton indicated he hadn't read it, he told him again what it was.

  • He had not read whatever it was the person was asking him to sign.

Put it this way, I'll access your schedule, then Ill stuff a paper in your face as you're on your way somewhere assuring you "Its a pocket constitution for student government. Please sign it".

Something tells me you wouldn't be signing it either, and you'd be a fool to admit otherwise.

  • Ummm...jnauttube...I won't even give you as much credit as rbairos...

You're a moron if you think that people wouldn't lie for the purpose of getting a well known person to sign something they wanted to misrepresent, later.

I say this as an Atheist AND a Libertarian.

Neither position supports the conspiracy that I would defend Al Sharpton, who is, probably, almost as dumb as you.

  • well first of all a pocket constitution is a quite common market product, and in the event where someone were to alter a few pages in between to put an unethical and illegitimate use of a person's signature for perhaps political agendas, there's also two problems with that. one there are much better candidates with more name recognition to choose as target, two it actually doesn't require much intelligence if someone shows you a pocket constitution with a page altered to know it's bogus.

  • spyletu: Your justification is pretty contrived. Famous political people *do not* sign unsolicited documents with a few seconds preparation period. *Claiming* you not famous enough to dupe is irrelevant (and wrong in this case). *Claiming* you can quickly thumb through it with a high enough degree of confidence is wrong. Is he really supposed to pull out a portable picnic chair and read every dang thing placed in face? Seriously.

  • should be quite obvious to any reasonable individual your intellectually dwindled assumptions really warrant no response, but i guess it's because it's 3 am and i'm bored. and no don't try to spend time to continue this delinquent topic lol.. no one can afford the luxury. peace.

  • Um bairos is your head up your bum? Al hasn't read the Constitution of the US yet has run for President.

  • 'Pocket constitution' sounds like some abridged constitution for some organization. Theres gotta be more deliberate Sharpton gaffes than this one.

  • Yah exactly "Pocket Constitution for Students of Government". Even if that unambiguously means "unmodified US Constitution" (which it most certainly does not), you'd be a fool to sign anything based on some strangers assurance of what it is. The vid is silly and good for a laugh, but says nothing of Sharpton obviously.

  • By 'unmodified' do you mean 'unsullied by the retards we elect to office' or unmodified by, as it was originally ratified?

  • Or...Maybe it was an Alcoholics Anonymous text.

  • Yeah. But that wasn't the constitution. It was the Satanic Bible...Or, maybe, Hustler, with a different cover on it.

    Are you stupid?

Just because some pawing fan tells you that you're signing something, doesn't mean you're signing what they say you're signing.

Children use this tactic to get absences excused by parents who are halfway asleep.

It WAS funny...But, not because it opened the window on Al Sharpton's ignorance. It was funny because it was juvenile.

  • If he wanted to confirm it was the constitution, and not a hulster or a satanic bible, then why not just flip through it quickly? Don't look to far into this. It's just comedy. It's not a serious debunking of Al Shparton.

  • Because he didn't want to?

Not sure I was looking "too far" into the video, itself. I'm just trying to understand the zealots here who claim this as proof positive that Al Sharpton hasn't read the constitution. It was just a prank.

For all I know, maybe Al "Shparton" doesn't even know how to read, and just doesn't want to admit it, publicly.

  • Well, I understand the zealot part. Every group has them. I just tend to ignore them. And I come back and look at the comment page, and more people are looking to far into this. It's a joke. Ignore the "zealots".

Without this clip, we already have known Al was a moron.

  • Sorry, I totally don't get it. I wouldn't sign an abridged constitution for anything without reading it first. What am I missing?

  • pocket does not mean abridged bro

  • I see you haven't read it either.

  • And obviously neither have you jnauttube, unless you're some omniscient alien aware of the contents of every document thrust in your direction. It may have been a pocket constituion for a new white nation for all you know. Laugh at Sharpton if you want, Im sure theres plenty of items to choose from, but this isn't one of them. I stand by my reason.

  • ohohohoh, wow.

  • YES!

    ROFL

    That's comedy GOLD!

  • Bet Obummer wouldn't sign one either. Sad.

  • Thats classic.

  • Besides, I can't even imagine Sharpton being a reverend. I mean, if he doesn't have time to read the Constitution, how the hell can he ever make time to keep up with the Bible, for one thing? The Bible is like 30x as long, at least.

  • whoo689, the Bible is a whole lot longer than 30x as long. The Constitution plus bill of rights is only 5 pages long. He could read it over breakfast if he wanted to.

  • Does Al Sharpton even preach anymore?? I'm not religious and couldn't give 2 shits, but if he's gonna have people calling him "Reverend" Al Sharpton, he'd better fucking do that. Being all political and shit and never being at the pulpit makes it useless to refer to himself as a reverend. At the least, call him "former reverend." It's like that BS with everyone calling Falwell "Reverend Jerry Falwell." Reverend?? Lol! Please. He probably never preached a day in his life.

  • Sharpton's too much of a jackass to be a reverend, anyhow. How is he qualified to give ANYONE advice on anything, esp. living morally?

  • He's smarter than I thought.

  • Hahahahahaha.

    Holy crap.

That is outrageous. I donated to Reason last night. Well worth it.

  • rofl that's funny.

  • Reverend Bacon can't read.

  • @_@ Holy...

  • Does renewing a subscription count as a donation?

  • magnanimous

  • Awesome.

  • Owned!

  • Short and sweet.

  • Complete and utter ownage

  • Epic win.

  • brilliant :D

  • beautiful

  • HAHA! Good video.

  • That's a favourite right there!

  • DBLfacepalm

  • LOL

  • Wow!

  • Fuck Al Sharpton

  • In Sharpton's defense, he was clearly not paying too much attention may not have thought "Constitution for Students of Government" was some sort of student union petition, and not the US Constitution. I could have easily made the same mistake. If the question was reworded to "Will you autograph the US Constitution for our students." he probably would have given a very different response.

  • But it sure is funny, and probably true.

  • Oh, I can find much more embarrassing Sharpton quotes. Hell, every time the man opens his mouth he makes a jackass of himself.

  • Al Sharpton is probably the most moronic public figure I have ever seen. I think Lindsay Lohan could probably give him an intellectual beatdown, lol

  • Seeing him say that is ridiculous. Seeing Gillespie rubbing his temples at the end is fucking hilarious.

  • priceless!

  • Gold.

  • haha :D

    nice!

  • lol
