  • anyone know the best way to get a pup to walk on one side. trying to get my 14 week old golden to walk on my left side but she just leaps around everytime i try to keep her on that side

  • @SophiePage143 How about you TRAIN YOIR PUPPY first? Geez, it's an extremely simple concept.

  • ffs I need to know how to walk an UNTRAINED puppy not a trained one! -.-

  • i think ive trained my pup to walk in the other direction im going and wee and poo all over the house, she does an amazing job at that !

  • make a boy version?

  • You don't need a "untrained" dog to use this persons technique. I used it on our 2 month old puppy and she learned to walk on a leash within 2 weeks. Those of you who have to comment on using a trained dog use your brain and stop leaving stupid comments

WTF i have to make my dog cum!?

  • im gonna try to make this a little harder by going faster then slower

    :)

  • This is the biggest issue that I have had with my dog(s), is that she "pulls" like crazy! Recently though we've begun training on a daily basis, and I can tell that she's really improved. I know that there's still more that I can do on my part though, so I'm just trying to learn a few extra tips for training her to walk correctly outside. huh... Now, just if those stupid squirrels didn't exist I think pulling wouldn't be such an issue with her... lol X)

  • This is good, but we can all see this dog is already trained.

  • look this up--helped me sooo much! "SHAPING POLITE WALKING with a HIGH RATE OF REINFORCEMENT - PART 1OF 3 "

  • dog is already trained. what a crock

  • Thank you for the theory. I can see that your points are what we need to practice.

  • My dog heard the squeaky toy in this video and ran & stared at her own squeaky toy for like 2 minutes thinking it squeaked on its own

  • @LadyPeachWicket Lol, that's hilarious. x) Yeah, my puppy heard the squeaky toy in a different vid and she ran over to me, walked off, and came back with her toy

  • @LadyPeachWicket - So did mine, and he was sleeping until he heard it xD

  • get an untrained puppy you piece of shit expert village good for fuck all

  • @marciii411

    Good for you.

  • clearly the dog is already trained, but that doesn't mean showing you an untrained dog will help you any more than this one. you have to realize that training some dogs isn't very easy and patience and consistency is a must. watch as much as you can, there are tv shows about trouble dogs those can also be helpful. watch these videos and take the advice. there is no easy trick to train your dog, and it won't be done in a day.

if these people used an untrained puppy, the video would be a mess

  • you cant "teach" it something if it already knows how to do it.

  • Why do these people show us the "how to vids" with dogs that are ALREADY TRAINED??? Why don't they show us these nifty tricks with an "UNTRAINED" dog. These people create these "how to" vids under perfect condition (no trees, no fire hydrants, no sqirrels, cars, noise or other pets). Please show us how to teach a dog how to walk on a leash with an untrained dog that pulls?

  • my puppy never walks or sits down .. durinThe walk ..

It always runssssssss amd runss ...

duting d walk it runs towards anything plastic , sticks anything ..

SO I HAVE A HARD TIME IN ciontroling me ..

she is even worst dan MARLEY ( marley and me MOVIE )........

  • Oh and to the sick bastards that like to abuse animals, you need to be tied up naked & have your balls ripped off by your dog u love abuse. They say people who enjoy seeing animals suffer are most likely to become serial killers & rapists.. Go take some medicine Sick fuckers

  • I agree w alot of ppl saying the DOG, not puppy was already trained. Wish the training videos were a little longer too and a little more informative. I mean, u know a dog will pull a leash once they go near grass or a pole & its not like u want to walk your pup in the street (concrete) like this video shows. Just need to start taking my pup for walks & dont kno what to do

  • that dog already knew how to do that shit in all yo videos u use the same dog he already trained

  • I agree, i have a pup and it is much harder, this dog is already trained!

My dog don't have intres in me but the cars, bike's, people, stuff on the ground.. Nothing works, cheese, ore candy or a strange voice, it is much harder if the pup don't know the commands you use!

So i don't like this video

  • @digitman6969 no they dont you have to trian a puppy how to walk on a leash.

  • WOW! i am shocked by the nastiness here. "retard" "twat" ... and those are just from the people objecting to mean comments. Lighten up, people. It's a video. Of a puppy. I had hoped people would have constructive comments but will stick to watching the videos for future.

  • The only problem I have with all of there's dog training tips, is that the puppy/dog has ALREADY been trained to do this command, what we really all want is a puppy/dog who doesn't know this commant at all, so we can really see how hard it is, and how long it really takes.

  • @ConiferTreez GO TO HELL basterd, How about we put a pinch collar on you so tightly until your circulation stops. Your mouth offends me and to other people that seen that. Rot in hell piece of shit! :D

  • All the asses on here that think it's OK TO PULL HARD ON THE LEASH OR KICK IT, are absolute retards. Hopefully it remembers what you do to it and hurts you back.

This video helped a lot. Thank you.

& By the way, calling him little puppy confuses him for his real name.... ?

  • soooooooooooooo mean!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • now get a "Untrained" dog and show us please

  • @hohohee1 hahahaha YES

  • When I talk to my puppy on they street people think I'm retarded

  • @MarioKartSourceTeam yeah same for me, but who cares? :D

  • great video :D

  • U loser, why do you have to talk such shit all the time. don't watch the video, you negative twat. Thats why ur dog hates you.

    Get a life

  • thats stupid to call him little puppy then he wont get used to his name

  • Our puppy is only 8 or so weeks but refuses to walk on the lead. He lies down and won't budge, no treats or pulling him along works. He's a border collie so I thought he would enjoy the out doors, and his brother loves walking with the leesh.he's a lazy mush. Help!

  • she sounds like she is new to it

  • my puppy himself learned to just walk on the leash the first time i was gonna train him i never trained him before i was walking back but he knew i was trickin him so he just pulled on the leash

  • im not deaf. how do i get rid of these fucking subtitles

  • @ConiferTreez Your comments are both horrifying and horribly, horribly inaccurate.

  • Since when did treating a dog like a dog become horrifying? I tell ya, only in America, hahaha.

You know absolutely NOTHING about animals. I rehabilitate ex-fighting dogs/dogs with EXTREME behavioral issues, dogs that have previously bitten people and/or other dogs.

Please elaborate on the depth of your experience.

  • @ConiferTreez "Yanking the living shit" out a dog is a method you think people should use on puppies--or any dog for that matter? If you walked up to a rescue worker, you know, people who deal with dogs who've been mistreated all their lives, and I wonder how many of them would agree with your practice.

And your "experience" doesn't even make sense for this issue. This video is for the average person raising an average puppy. Not dogs with "EXTREME" behavioral issues. I hope you know, that espe

  • If a dog (any dog, puppy or not) CONSISTENTLY refuses to do what it's told, then necessary actions must be taken. One sharp yank usually does the trick.

Most pussy-footed assholes that work at rescue facilities should in essence not be working with animals at all, ESPECIALLY not animals that have severe behavioral issues. The way to fix an out-of-control, man-biting Rottweiler is most definitely NOT "positive reinforcement", haha.

  • @ConiferTreez Seems kinda fishy to me that someone with such expert training like you would be watching a video on how to walk a dog....

  • cially with smaller, toy breeds, you could actually KILL a puppy doing what you suggested. So yes, what you said was very much horrifying.

And as for my experience? Volunteering with the local Humane Society, being close friends with reputable breeders who have bred many litters of healthy, sociable puppies who manage to be trained without brute force.

  • No one is saying that you should use "brute force" on a fucking puppy or a toy breed, christ almighty.

Pinch collars are meant to be positive/relaxing things, especially for a puppy.

  • @ConiferTreez Ur an ass okay, you dont 'pull the living shit' out of a dog, thats just wrong and horrible. I would hate to be one of your dogs, you say you rescue fight dogs, when really ppl should be rescuing them from you.

  • I have a 12 week old lab. I've had him for a week now. Was able to teach him to walk on a leash. Buy a clicker, click it, and give him a treat every time you do until they see that every time you click they get a treat. Then teach them to "sit" or something simple. AS SOON AS their butt hits the floor, click and treat & praise. Just be patient. Next, clicker to teach to walk. When they are close to you, not pulling, click and treat. PS, my puppy needed aloe gel on pads of feet. Get sore fast.

  • I have a labrador puppy shes 2 months old n she wont walk on a leash she keeps on pulling back n stays in the same spot sitting down i often pull n it doesnt work pls help

  • Put a pinch collar on her, make it as tight as possible, place it right around the crown of her neck, right before the skull, & yank the living shit out of it until she stops pulling.

  • i dont have to watch this because my dog is so gentle she knows to listen and follow through

  • it would help alot if instead of having a properly trained dog they filmed a dog that doesnt know how to walk on a leash already, i need help my puppy will walk for a couple of steps and then out of no where she drops like a rock on the grass

  • yea that's y there again I don't believe positive reinforcement is always the best method for EVERY DOG! That's like sayin every kid learns through listening. What you can try is to encourage her, but if she spooked carry her for a little while. And WATCH her body language, if the ears are bak and the tail is low she scared, and if the hair goes up on the back she's on the defense and scared. But if she's calm and jus lie there and looks at you like "IM NOt MOVIn. You probably have a stubborn dog

  • But depending on the size and body frame of your dog, I would use either a collar or a chain. Like I use a collar on my pom and small poodle and I use a chain on my bf doberman puppy when he got a little older like 4 months. And all you do is snap the leash you pull quickly and release. DON"T TUG, you gotta release otherwise u will hurt the dog. And say come or heel. And than follow by tug if the puppy doesn't come. And than that way you will transition your puppy to use verbal commands.

  • Some trainer that are all hyped up on the positive reinforcement will say this is mean! But do you give a kid ice cream when they stop jumping on the sofa? Jus sayin dogs are a lot like kids, and their a time say no and a time to reward. I hope this helps it did wonders w my pom, my bf's doberman, and a bunch of other dogs i've worked w. ANd it working on my 11 week old pom.

  • @nikigurl08 But dogs aren't like kids. You can punish a child and the child will understand why they were punished. Unfortunately, dogs' brains don't work like that. If you punish them, they won't understand why they've been punished, and they won't stop the behavior. All you end up with is a dog that still pees on the carpet or jumps on the couch, but who is now afraid of you.

  • @RuinedbyReality Dogs may not be children, but they do learn through association, if you they see the yelled at and than pulled off the couch their gonna get the point, and depending on the breed some dogs are quicker than other at picking it up. I mean how do you teach a dog oh dont jump on the couch using positive reinforcement, throw a treat, to get them off or take them outta the room! Your rewarding bad behavior!

  • @RuinedbyReality Positive reinforce has it place, but it shouldn't b used for everything! Its to reward a good behavior, but some behavior is not wanted. ANd a dog who follows you because it "WANTS TOO!" is a dog that isn't trained at all! I know dogs that will sit for a person when it wants to, but it not very often, and the dog is not trained well at all!

  • I totaly agree one of my puppys just grabs the lead and wont let go , so anoying lol

  • @superc1231 Well...walk on the concrete! That's why she thoroughly explained to NOT train in the grass ;)

  • This dog obviously knows how to walk on a leash already.

  • cant always be so nice with the dog the do need disapline but not enough tto brake up just to know from right nd wrong

  • lmao no regular person is going to stand outside with a toy and bag of treats for every walk. and the only reason he was so "focused" on you was because he knew you had treats.

  • well, she doesn't give the toy, so he may start being discouraged by doing something, if there is no point. just give him like, 10 sec, and take it away. do it again, give him the toy for 10 mins, and take it away. you can't simply make the dog doing stuff like he's a robot

  • My 6 week golden retriever thinks he is the boss of me cuz he is so cute ;(

he refuses to walk, everytime i put him on the leash, he lays down all 4s flat on the ground with his feets spread out. i would wait for him and he falls a sleep ;(

  • My dog won't walk or go to the bathroom on a leash. Have any suggestions?

  • @JanisLJoplin Are you using crate training? Dogs won't relieve themselves in a properly sized crate. Put your dog in his crate for long enough that he will need to go, but not so long that he loses control. When you let him out, quickly put on the leash and take him outside. Be patient, he will take the opportunity to relieve himself!

  • when i try to take my puppy out to walk he usually sits and wont move or he goes to the grass and wont walk

  • Just keep trying. You might want to try him off leash...don't put a leash on him. Take off running and see if your dog will follow you. If you have a few pieces of meat or treats he will definitely follow you.

  • thanks for the advice

  • Help

    My dog doesn't move

  • lol.

  • if you really listen, this is actually relly dirty. "little puppy" and "barto"..... Woah.

  • Maybe if you're a perv.

  • mine knows how to walk on a leash pretty good up to a point where his energy kicks in and all he does is try to go after my feet. i dont know what to do besides try to pull him back away from my feet. as soon as i stop walking my feet arent interesting anymore and he will sit there. any advise?

  • I can help. !st of all, what is your leash made of? Second, what knd of corrective collar are you using; and third, what technique are you employing?

  • its a retractive leash and a harness. hes gotten better though. what ive been doing is stopping when he goes after his leash or my feet and turn around and walk a different way. if that doesnt work i grab his harness and make him sit until he calms down.

  • as soon as he/she starts to get distracted tug on the leash not hard just enough to get his mind set back on walking... remember u are the pack leader and as such you must give off good energy...

  • at what age should you start walking your puppy? im gettin my 1st puppy so i have no idea. plz reply

  • in the 3rd month.

  • As soon as it learns its basic commands. Like, sit ,stay.heel and come. As soon as he has that you can start.

  • it sounds like shes talking into a fan at some parts on my computer.

  • my puppy sits down and won't walk at all, infact she pulls in the opposite direction or jus sits down. what can i do?? =(

  • same here =(.. i think my puppy is too shy or scared... she is soo little... please someone help!

  • lol mine does that too

  • mine does exactly same thing

  • Now see tried to teach my little chi chi to walk with the leash but she kept teething on it and then when we took it off she got a hold of her collar and it got stuck in the back of her mouth she kept crying and moving around we had to cut teh collar off I dont even think My cji chi is trainable anyone have any Ideas on trying to train her???

  • well i started bathing my puppy when he was 6 weeks old you can probably do it younger but I dont know if its good or not

  • hello, I have a question, how old should you start bathing your puppy????

  • when it gets too dirty there are puppy shampoos that wont hurt its eyes

  • um... I am pretty sure you can do it from birth...

obviously make sure its warm water and that you dry him well.

Also have em in another dry towel after you dry him for further warmth of course

  • I really need to sign up for dog training but my parents say"It is a waste of money." I always say that we need training because our two dogs(Chihuahua's) don't go to the right spot to use the restroom.I think it is like imposible to either put on the leash 4 1 of my dogs cause she will like growl & show her teeth at u at the same time.EVERYTIME I HAVE TO DRAG THE DOGS AND IT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE SRRY 4 THEM.

  • lmaooo....they show their teeth. Oh no you need courses, go for it. It is better to spend the money, than to go through that headache.

  • I need help my dog just keeps jumping for the treat and she wont walk

  • try just not using a treat. try calling them and kinda walking/running away from them and getting them to follow. eventually they will get how to walk on it. also you can try just walking towards some smell or site that interests her. that way she will keep walking. but pull back if she tries to pull (heel command)

  • I didn't have trouble teaching my lab puppy to walk on a leash, but she keeps trying to walk just infront of me. Not pulling me, but not staying beside/behind me. I dont know how to get her to let me set the pace. She is only 12 weeks old but she will get bigger and I need to get this under control now. Any pointers?

  • you can hold your leash beside you so your lab is walking beside you

  • you can try to bring some sort of stick or cane with you. if you walk with her on your right side, hold the leash in your right hand and the long stick in your other. when she starts passing your legs and getting in front, say heel and if she does not back up, then tap her front legs or chest with the stick. also i find that if i stomp my foot on the ground, the dog takes me more seriously and drops back

  • my dog will just keep jumping up at the toy but shes learning shes a german shepard

  • you dont say 'yes' to your dog... it do not know 'walk on leash' is good. no food, no play, no pet. i dont like this...

  • not true. she is trying to teach us how to walk the puppy fr beginner. i bet all the teaching is perfect except the mic voice. and the other perfect.

  • my dog walks on a Leash very good

    :)

  • I would like to take the time to say thank you. I have a miniature dachshund and he is doing great with all the learning steps you have put together. I have taught him his name, how to sit, speak (using similar methods that you demonstrate), and we are now working on a leash. The house training tips were awesome and effective too. I am very grateful to all your hard work in putting these videos together. I am now able to help my puppy be healthy, happy, and obedient. Thank you.

  • wat about if i have a beagle puppy.. his name is milo and is 2 1/2 months old and he wont walk on the leash.. can someone help me?

  • SAME i got a dobermann though =D

  • yea my lab puppy just expects me to drag her,

  • My dog's terrified by the leash. He just stays immobile as long as he's on it; and we've tried several times to get him to lose his fright. Can someone please help?

  • A well handled choke-chain has helped me in the past...

  • She has to say that dumbass because he knows what that means!!

  • Fuess! Platz! Voraus! For those of you who appear to believe a dog should instantly understand our commands, do you know what the first 3 words of this post are? As Weimgirl1 pointed out, these are "baby steps." As for what I said at the beginning, it was German for "heel," "down," and "go out." This is an excellent video to help a novice get started with a puppy and one I will recommend to others.

  • do you want me to start calling you names, too?

  • You're right, vivid. That was unneccessary & I apologize. I take issue with such remarks, & here I am resorting to same. I guess I'm just sick of all the negative/sarcastic comments on U Tube in response to videos provided by individuals like this - who've clearly made a sincere effort to be of help to others. It's just as easy to type "thanks" & offer some gratitude, or write nothing at all. BTW: Not everything has to be humorous & a few folks might actually be hurt by such (public) postings.

  • is the dog not supposed to walk at your heel and not jump all over the place

  • it's called "baby steps" for a reason
