Advantage: never need to remove strap from hammock (i.e. it can attach free strap end to tree, and snug--this cannot be done with a knot or carabiner). Less strap/fraying than free-end through strap loop method (which also involves removing strap from hammock or having a hammock line plus the strap which must be joined, usually by a carabiner or climbing ring).

Is there an upside to these clips? I ask because in the video the way you placed them were upside down compaired to all the other videos I've seen.
