Only government should have the power to issue currency and control its quantity: 1) outlaw government borrowing from private banks; 2) end fractional reserve lending (aka usury); 3) replace debt-based federal reserve notes with debt-free US notes. To delegate the money power to private interests is to surrender national sovereignty! We've suffered long enough thru a bloody century of world wars, brought about by usury banking! The reality is that the would be prosecuters and the would be prosecuted have a swinging door policy. What should be done and what could be done are two different things. Ron Paul will be assassinated if he pushes too many buttons, that is why he is careful with his words. He is basically walking a tight-rope day to day. He knows what is going on, but he also knows where the line in the sand is. If he is elected, he can of course move that line to where it is supposed to be.

Here in Canada, we maintain the rollover and take it (like accommodating Canadians). The pensions are now under attack and the plan is to have the private sector declare pension war on the public sector db pension plans. Wrong, as this will just strip wealth from all Canadians. Killing unions and their stability will effectively hurt every Canadian, but they are trying to pull it off. Sad to watch.

In a debt-based monetary system, spending cuts reduce the money supply and tighten the deflationary spiral. It's mathematically impossible to ever pay down the debt in our current system. As more wealth is transferred from the 99% to the 1%, the need for social welfare increases, hence the transformation of America into a banana republic!
