It was costing the people of Britain to do that therefore she gave the mining companies freedom too sort themselves out, when they couldn't they closed them. No one was banned from being a miner, in Wales some set up cooperation's so they could continue.

I was brought up in rural Lincolnshire, where Thatcher's ancestors came from. Although I was horrified by her actions throughout her office, I could see where she got her values from. It's basically a peasant mentality of brutalism and intellectual vacancy, masquerading as morality. She's evil but she didn't act alone: people forget that... She had help, and plenty of people approved of her actions. People sometimes approve of evil because it's easy... It's harder to have a social conscience.

The state's job is not to force a social theory upon it's citizens. It should let the people do what they want within the confines of law, and should pursue a policy to provide sound economic circumstances for it's citizens to pursue their dreams.
