The song "Take Me to Your Heart" was released on October 26, 2003 and it was an adaptation of the famous Chinese hit "Goodbye Kiss" by Jacky Cheung. The original song name is "吻别" ("Wen Bie").
The fact is here, so don't make any confrontation between your pride become american or chinese. Just enjoy this lovely song :)
i've heard my dad sang this song since i was in kindergarten as i still remember..and i heard the "take me to your heart" version from MLTR when i was in junior high..so what do you think?!
i don't hate MLTR, i love 'em and also their songs..i'm also a big fan of 'em..
but it's a real joke when you said this chinese version is the cover..
ps : i love this song whether it's in chinese or in english version..just to make it straight..
Just saying, if you look at the video, you can tell that the video and how it was made and produced was FAR FAR before all the high tech cameras and MLTR.
I started to like this chinese version, I think this is the original version, if I'm not mistaken of Take Me To Your Heart~ revival and translated by MLTR???
I remember Aboon of TC, I heard him singing this song a few times in karaoke in S'pore....
Most likely, it was the Chinese version that came first because the style of music is just so Chinese (I'm not talking about the Chinese instruments, btw because that's too obvious). I'm not sure how to explain it.. but yeah...
@ASilverPeony If you were to take away the lyrics and replace every syllable or note with LA and take away the Chinese instruments, it would still sound very much like a song made in the East. Westerners just don't typically produce this kind of style of music. I hope this elaboration better explains what I was trying to say in my previous post. A lot of the modern Asian slow songs by pop bands are pretty Western though.. which kind of sucks because I like Asian sounding stuff more.
This song was firsr released about 20 yrs ago. This was one of the very first few albums of Jacky Cheung which help to propel him up the charts together with the other 3 "Heavenly Kings"
Not nearly as good as the MLTR original, the guys voice weak and is nowhere near as good as the original singer plus I don't understand the Chinese language! ** only
@Justsomeuser22 You're a very ignorant person. You don't even bother researching the origins before bashing the original. I'm sure you're some ignorant 12 year old that doesn't know any better yet, but still, originals should be respected and not bashed.
@crazyazn52 MLTR Frontman Jascha Richter rote new lyrics to Jacky Cheung's 1993 melody from his Chinese song Wen-Bie. Completely diferent lyrics from MLTR's original version of "Take Me to Your Heart."
MLTR's original recording of the song "IS" called "Take Me to Your Heart." and it is this song to which I expressed a preference.
I did not as you say "Trash" anyone I simply stated my opinion that Jascha Richter has far a superior voice to Jacky Cheung.
The person that posted this video should really remove their description where it says "Cover" you can ask anyone that knows about Jacky Cheung, This song is a classic, and it definitely ain't no COVER of anything, the one and only original. I'm seeing people getting mad over that.XD
