As a bird person for 30 plus years now and having quite a few different species of parrots in my house, the cockatiel remains my favorite only because of its gentle nature and it is the perfect all around family bird. Cockatiels live near running water in the wild. Mine sings whenever I wash the dishes, it's like a natural happiness because it sounds like being home in the tree by the waterfall. Even a bird born in captivity knows where his heartland is.
That is just so cute! My bird harasses me when I take a shower with out him. I think he just likes all the mirrors and how he sounds in the bathroom XD
My sister's bird (a budgie) sings whenever we vacuum.
