Under Common Law jurisdiction you have a right to travel on public roads. You do not need a license, reg, or insurance. Cops will nearly never agree with this because they are trained to bring the encounter to a conclusion that favors the State.

What you don't understand is that by registering a motor vehicle you are agreeing to a contract to obey your state/country laws. You own the car, but you don't own the right to drive your car. That's why officers require a warrant to search but not to see registration. Learn the rules before trying to act cute in front of a camera. A lawful traffic stop such as this does NOT constitute unlawful detainment. @CaptainCocaine To even say that the definitions of the words used in law don't matter shows your ignorance to the subject. Law does not work that way, if it did they wouldn't have law dictionaries, that are much different that the English dictionary. In order for their to be a crime, there must be a corpus dilicti. Without one there is no crime, there might be the violation of a statute, but one must now show the contract that binds this human to that set of statutes.

@CaptainCocaine The reason for the separate definitions of the same device is so that there may be reasonable application of the statute. This officer in the video tells him he is not free to go, the definition of an arrest. You cannot go around arresting people, violating their free rights just cause you think they did something wrong. Again, speeding is not against the law, it is against the Motor Vehicle Code. I've already proved that the word "Motor Vehicle" has a distinct use in law.

@CaptainCocaine How can a code that regulates commercial use apply to me if im not acting in commerce? Unless you are committing a crime, an officer has no right to stop your vehicle. Ive already proved that most normal people are not acting in commerce, and that would mean they are not required to follow these statutes. Even going 100 MPH down the road is not against the common law that rules over human beings, you have not violated the rights of another by doing that.

@polevaultrockstr I was implying you did NOT need a Class A license to drive your car, and you do NOT need to use a weigh stations, as commercial vehicles often do (special regulations for commercial does not imply zero regulations for private sector).
An officer may stop you if he witnesses you committing a "moving violation," which is not a crime, but is a ticketable offense. Please cite anything that points to the contrary.

@CaptainCocaine the problem is that one of the "fundamental rights" is freedom of movement. Therefore how exactly can we claim that this is ok? You have to get a license AND a registration AND insurance. That is taxation of a basic human liberty. Revolutionary War ring a bell?
Also the 4A states "...shall not be violated, and no warrants shall be issued, but upon probable cause..." Now anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together would understand that means a warrant is still needed.

You have a right to travel,however if your tabs were not up to date you are in violation of the law. To be in violation of the law and to not provide information to an officer of the law you have no real case. You were not giving the officer the information that he needed to validate that you were within the letter of the law. You were in the wrong.
