So what about Alton Brown eh? From where did he crawl out? And whatever happened to the girl who won Next Food Network star over a year ago? The gourmet next door girl? Never saw one show from her. WTF?

Alton Brown started out doing commercials and decided he wanted to do a cooking show that wasn't like all the other ones on at the time. So he attended and graduated from the New England Culinary Institute, put together a demo, and the Food Network saw it and decided they wanted the show, but only if AB was the host.
