@bettermaxim mods... gtp with 3.29s tears through gears. Balts dont pick up as good as a gtp with 3.29s even with some tranny work on em (Ive driven both). Just from what ive driven and seen anyway...not saying your wrong or anything just my .02
@gtpsleeper 3.29? are you talking about the pulley size? if so i think the stock pulley size on the balt is 3.25. not sure about that gtp but either way the gtp isn't made to bring the pulley size down as small as the balt becuase its a bigger supercharger. but either way there comparible. honestly though these are 2 completely different cars in 2 different categories. one is a fwd 4banger sports compact, and the other is a rwd v6 fullsize car..It is rwd right?

@tyl3rjon3s GTX is different then a GTP.. GTX was rated to have like 20 more hp then a GTP. They had ram air functional hoods, upgraded exhaust, CAI , and i think stock tuned pcms.. so GTX would rip on stock balts all day. I would say a STOCK GTP in a real track 1/4 would always beat a stock BALT
Yea man. The M90 is not that loud with just an intake. you even have a smaller pulley on yours and its still not as loud as the cobalt WTF. My SSEI is not very loud either all I have is a gutted air box.
That's because they have the equivalent of a Gen V Blower which is on the 04+ GTPs, which is much louder than the older Gen III's. The Cobalt does have a 3.0 pulley in this vid, and i have a 3.4.
that s/c whine counds super loud for only a 3.4 pulley. you got your blower ported? or maybe is it a gen 5 m90? cause i might either port mine or get a gen 5 off of a 04+gtp

Im looking to get a GTP, preferrly a 98-01. Im looking to put at least 500 whp. Which would be better, and most efficient way to achieve this: Twin supercharger system with support mods, or a turbo conversion with support mods? And do i need a stronger front axle to support these power numbers? Any pointers will be great. Thanks.
to put down 500Whp you should consider a turbo. the M90 is capable of supporting a motor with that kind of power but to compensate for the parasitic loss of running the supercharger will mean that the same motor will support 600whp (give or take) with a turbo. Twincharged setups are also an option in which you can run a supercharger and turbo. the S/C gives you fast boost at low rpm and helps spool the turbo faster to make up for turbo lag, but once the turbo spools, it bypasses the supercharger

I love GTP's, I have one myselft, but I'm sorry I don't believe that a 2000 GTP with the Gen 3 SC and just a CAI is beating GT's and G35's, you're pushing 250 at the crank at most and a GT puts out 260hp stock weighing 500lbs less and the G35 puts out 300hp with about the same weight.

LS1 Camaro? LOL my friend's '99 T/A 6MT ran 12.90 stock. A GTP runs low 15s stock. Even a stock '99-'04 GT should beat a GTP by 4 car legnths. If it doesn't, the driver is to blame. You beat a few V6 Mustangs and any V8 Stangs you beat had incompetent drivers. I hate to burst your bubble but 99% of Mustang drivers can't drive worth a shit so when you beat them, it's only because they suck. Your GTP is actually much slower than an LS1 or even a '99-'04 GT.
thats funny because a stock mustang gt has no way in hell of keeping up with a stock LS1, i know my gtp cant run down a camaro, mustangs are quite in adequate though, and i take it youre a driver who cant shift for shit? that and i raced a gt with an automatic and beat it.. you cannot say it was his driving that made him lose. it was the car. and on top of that my buddies GTPs got a 3.4 pulley 3 in DP CAI and header and 2.5 inch exhaust with msd ignition system and then some
Made that last post and then remembered, in my videos there is a video of a guy named Andy running his '88 notchback against an LS1/auto swapped third gen Camaro and as far as I know, the LS1 was stock. I think the Camaro ran a 13.5 in that video but as much as I hate to admit it, I will vouch for seeing him run repeated 12.90s that night. Granted the third gen is probably a little lighter, but it's not a lot different and it was a stock LS1 and stock 4L60-E.

Nice race man I LOVE when GTP's beat up on smaller blown cars!!! Only thing though is you might be seeing some KR with the intake DP and tune when running a 3.4 Have you ever had it scanned?? The absolute smallest pulley you can run on a GTP is 2.55". Anything lower and you won't be making any extra power. Just a FYI...
