I have a cabled computer works really fine until now... the internet disconnects me like every 5-10 minutes. When this happens my modem starts to flash on the DSL then it turns red and then its starts flashing again. Then my internet disconnects and the DSL on the modem just keeps flashing...

Any Ideas?

im trying to set up a new internet connection for my main computer because the herddrive got formatted so theres no connections but idk how to set up a new one and when i go to the command line and try the ip configuration it just says what i typed "ipconfig" and when i try setting up a new connection it says everything is installed and set up but its not there. can someone help??? :(

This could either be due to the fact that the router is trying to assign an ip (internet protocol) address for your computer or the other issue could be that your computer is enabled for DHCP mode rather than Static hope this helps

ok my internet connection has really been messing up,like all the time. it will be working perfectly 1 min, and then lose conection the next, and then five min later have it again.

Try playing with different frequencies on your router and cordless phone, baby monitor or anything running on 2.4ghz 1, 6, and 11 are non overlapping.

is your router a D-Link, cause mine is, try updating your routers firmware, and check settings such as your DNS also take into consideration the age of your router could it be failing becasue of it age. also noise in some areas can affect signal so try switching your wireless channel.

i recently had to wipe my whole computer, and also i got a new hardrive. and i have a ZyXEL connection and netgear router. but i have this problem with the connection. my connection goes on for like 20 seconds and then shuts off. even when its on for those 20 seconds, i cant even get on the internet. by the way, this is for only for my other computer. this computer still works fine.

guys i use ZyXEL to get my internet connection when i first got comcast, my connection was fast, and it never cut off. but now sometimes my connection turns off and on every few hours but STILL says it's on, even though it actaully isnt. Like it says "Status: Connected. Signal Strength: Excellent." all that stuff. but once i go on the internet, it says this page cannot be found, and its not the certain websites because it does that on every website.only time the connection works is if its on low
