Ls1 z28 vs. Lt1 z28

Depends on the year.ls1 are from 98-02 both the SS and Z28 have it. The LT1 are the ones before that 97

My lt1 would always get the ls1s to about 80 that's when the ls1 would start to pull away. Ls1 is much better motor to mod

Its mainly in the exhaust and how it was done. You can take a ls1 and make sound nasty. But most of the time with flow master and cats, and Y's or X's they will always sound tamer.

But they flow air and out preform so much more than just about any other motor.

The stock taillights belongs to the LT1 the spoiler is how to distinguish the cars apart, a 97 and older SS don't have the two post in the spoiler

Stock to stock the LS1 will rape a LT1 every single time. I'm sorry but the LT1 is a pretty sorry engine after you start looking at it's specs. 350CI and doesn't even make 300hp, has some decent low end squirt but after that it falls on its face, forget about top end. It can be made fast, but so can everything else. The LS is a much better engine.

@MoreThanJackass Yeah the LS1 is going to be faster. LT1 is a good motor (i persoanlly found it a pain to work on heh), makes good low end torque and all. If it's in the budget though, I'd take an ls1 over it for anything.

@Camaromandave98 yep up to 96 anyhow they only had white and red in the taillights 97 they started putting the amber turnsignals in them. but the ls didn't actually find a home in these fbodys till 98 so kinda rite kinda wrong

Looks like every time the Lt1 launched, it looks like he had traction issues.... still, both cars are damn fast and very nice looking. My 95 is in the shop for a total makeover...damn I miss it especially when im passing someone in the wife's minivan :(...... But she'll be coming back out in Feb with a 383 Stroker, cam, and all bolt ons :D

@Hellz420 just look at the tail lights the 98+ camaros have the amber in the bottom corner thats why my 01 z28 has the old tail lights so people behind me think it's an lt1 they don't get much of a chance to see my head lights lol just the tails getting smaller as I take off

I'm still workin on my plans for the front end, i hate the way they look stock, especially the headlights. I'm gonna go the no grille direction(with the mount holes filled in) and a harwood 2.5in cowl hood. Should look pretty badass on my set up.
